Character Traits Task • Using the Character Traits from your list, you are to choose 25 different traits. With those traits, you will make a sentence with each and apply it to someone you know. He/she comes to a major realization and sees the world from a different perspective. Static Character • A character who remains “the same” throughout the narrative . . . he/she does not develop or change from the beginning of the story. The actual “character” seems stagnant or stable. Round Character • A character who encounters conflict and is somehow changed by it. He/she seems like people we know or may like to meet. We learn many aspects or sides of his/her personality through the choices that are made during the narrative. Flat Character • A character who holds a minor part in the narrative. He/she does not undergo any substantial change or growth in the course of the story. The flat character should support a major character . . . usually the round or dynamic character. • Get out: – Two sheets of notebook paper – Notes over Character Types – A.R.
