Test Review

In your RJ (opposite Oedipus notes):
1.
2.
3.
Identify your top 2 areas of weakness.
Write 2-4 sentences about why you think each of these areas is
difficult for you and what you can do to improve your scores on
future exams in each of these areas.
Identify your top area of performance.



Why do you feel this area is your strongest?
Then, figure out your average correct on each of the 5
passages—note it in your RJ.
Now, in your RJ (opposite Oedipus notes):
1.
2.
Did you perform better on prose or poetry? Were they equal?
Why do you think this was the result? Will it shift your focus of
study as the quarter progresses?
Essay Metacognition



Pick up your writing folder from the file
drawer in the back of the room.
Then, place your essays in the following order:
1. Summer choice novel
2. Beowulf
3. Grendel
4. Midsummer Night’s Dream
5. Quarter 1 Process Paper
6. Alice in Wonderland
7. Hamlet
8. Quarter 2 Process Paper
9. Death of a Salesman
Also, in your RJ, list them in this order—leave
about 5 lines between each.
Essay Metacognition

In your RJ (opposite Oedipus) , do the following for each essay:





List the score you received
Identify 1 thing that was strong in your essay
Identify 1-2 area(s) of weakness(es)
In 2-3 sentences, explain why you earned the score you received
Once you’ve metacognated about all essays, do the following (still in
your RJ, opposite Oedipus):


Choose 2 areas of your writing that you are going to focus on between
now and May 4th (the day of the AP Lit. & Comp. exam)
Set a clear goal for yourself – what are you going to do and by when?


Example: I am going to improve my thesis statements, ensuring that I set myself
up to address the entire prompt in my essay; therefore, I’ll improve my essays and
increase my average score from 3.5 to 6 prior to May 4th.
If you’re unable to finish during the hour, please take your folder home &
finish for tomorrow. Don’t forget to bring the folder back on Tuesday!
