2015 PJ Troy Rules and Regulations
1. Player Numbers - Div. 1 – 15 a side, Div. 2 – 13 a side,
2. Games are 15 minutes a half.
3. Referee’s fee is €40 per club to be collected by host club and divided amongst the
three referees at the venue.
4. Three groups of three teams will be drawn to play each other in the morning session.
The draw will determine the fixtures as follows
(a) Team 1 Drawn vs Team 2 Drawn
(b) Loser (a) vs Team 3 Drawn
(c) Winner (a) vs Team 3 Drawn
5. For the first seven and a half minutes of each half the ball must be played on the
ground only. It cannot be lifted into the hand. It cannot be lifted off the ground and
struck. The ball may not be kicked or deliberately stopped using the foot. Any of the
above results in a free to the opposition. All frees to be taken as a sideline cut. All
65’s to be taken as a sideline cut from 30 metres directly in front of goal. The
goalkeeper may play normal rules within the small square. Puck outs may be caught
before the ball touches the ground but must be played away immediately. After seven
and a half minutes has elapsed in each half the ref shall blow for time, players shall
reset and the ref shall throw the ball in on the half way line to restart play.
6. In the second seven and a half minutes of each half the normal rules of hurling will
apply.
7. In the afternoon each of the three group winners, three second place teams and three
third place teams from the morning groups will play each other as per the following
Game 1 – Group A Team vs Group B Team
Game 2 – Losers Game 1 vs Group C Team
Game 3 – Winners Game 1 vs Group C Team
8. If two or more teams are tied on the same number of points in either the morning or
afternoon groups score difference shall decide finishing positions. The formula shall
be total points (Goals and points) for minus total points against. If teams are still level
total points for shall decide the winners.
9. The presentation of the trophy for Division 1 will take place in the clubhouse of
Whitehall Colmcille on Saturday at about 5 p.m. The winning team is expected to be
in attendance.
10. Any team that has put itself forward and that then subsequently withdraws from the
competition shall be subject to a fine of €100. Any team that withdraws less than 7
days prior to the competition shall be subject to a fine of €200. Any team that fails to
field on the day shall be subject to a fine of €300
