Study Techniques and Exam tips!
Epsilon: Make your own notes.
Look at the
chapter or unit or section. What are the titles,
heading and subheadings? Are there any
bolded words? Write these down. These are
Alpha: Give
yourself plenty of time. Cramming
doesn’t work. It just doesn’t. When you
start to study weeks ahead you have plenty
of time to read everything.
Beta: Use an Agenda. Write your study
time in your agenda. An agenda is one of
the best organizational tools you have to
help you prepare for your exams.

Digamma: Cover, recite and check. But
how do you paraphrase? It’s as easy as
reading over a page, a paragraph, or a
sentence, then covering it up, and saying it
back in your own words!
Gamma: Set up a study stadium. It
doesn’t have to be an actual stadium—just
an area where you can leave your notes,
your pencils, and your dictionary- no TV or
blaring music!
Zeta: Don’t study the stuff you know
Delta: Study a little bit every night.

you start early enough you can easily avoid

On October 26th, they played against Iona
Catholic Secondary School and emerged
victorious with a score of 25-20. This made
the winning streak of four. “The Colts football
team practiced hard for the big game
against Iona, and I’m very proud of my girls!”
stated Priti Gujadhur, one of the captains.
Sadly, the Colts’ game against Lorne Park on
Octo-ber 30th was their last. The game
ended off with a final score of 19-18. We
congratulate our varsity girls flag foot-ball
team for their dedication and great
sportsmanship through the season.

A Season to Remember
Despite the rough start that our Cabot Colts
girls’ varsity flag football team started off
with, they managed to make a comeback!
Coached by Mr. Vancardo and Mr. Brady,
the team made this season worthwhile to
remem-ber.
The season started on September 19th. Our
Cabot Colts played a total of eight games
this season, against Clarkson, Iona Catholic,
Lorne Park and St. Paul’s. De-spite the first
three losses against St. Paul, Lorne Park, and
Iona, our Colts flag football team managed
to make a comeback. After two wins
against Clarkson and one win against St.
Paul’s, the Colts girls managed to make the
win to loss ratio 3 to 3! “It was a bit rough in
the beginning, but let me tell you, after
Cabot Cross Country
So many of you must have seen great races
in the Olympics this year, well that’s nothing
compared to Cabot’s cross country team.
ROPSSAA is fast approach-ing however, not
as fast as our Cabot run-ners. The athletes
are prepared, and how prepared! They
have practices every Mon-day, Wednesday,
and Friday. Coached by Ms. Galbraith, Mr.
Daly, and Ms. Fox, the hard-working grade 9
girls need to run about three kilometers,
grade 10 girls; 4 kilometers, and the
intermediate girls; 5 kilometers. “The midget
boys are also doing amazing,” said a student
on the girls inter-mediate cross country team,
“they are likely to win.” The motivated boys
also need to run many kilometers. The grade
9s; 5 kilo-meters, grade 10 boys; 6 kilometers,
and the grade 11 and 12s; 7 kilometers.
That’s a lot of practice!
