IES Bully Prevention Rules
1- We will not bully others.
2- We will help students who are
bullied.
3- We will include students who are
left out.
4- If we know that someone is being
bullied, we will tell an adult at
school and an adult at home.
IES Bully Prev. Program Cont.
In regard to Rule #4, if your child
reports bullying behavior to you,
please notify one of the following
people at IES:
• Teacher
• Counselor
• Principal
IES Bully Prev. Program Cont.
• Please also try to help your child
know the difference between
bullying and peer conflict.
• We are reminding the students to
not “label” others as “bullies”
since it is their BEHAVIOR which
was inappropriate and can be
adjusted/learned from.
IES Bully Prev. Program Cont.
• To help make the distinction
between bullying and conflict,
know that we are teaching
students:
– Bullying is when someone repeatedly and
on purpose says or does mean or hurtful
things to another person who has a hard
time defending himself or herself.
Bullying can be direct or indirect. Direct
includes hitting, teasing, name calling,
etc. Indirect is rumors, exclusion, and
cyber-bullying.
