Corn Maze School Field Trips - Teachers Add an additional educational component to your fieldtrip this year at the maze. Try our Maze Master Trivia. We know you are under constant pressure to make everything have an educational value to it, and your trip can now include learning that fits specifically with your curriculum. As the students navigate through the corn maze, they can answer multiple choice questions about one of our premade topics, or you can create your own questions. If they choose the right answer to a question, they will advance through the maze in the right direction. If they answer incorrectly, they will head for a dead end or in the wrong direction. Maze Master Trivia is great for schools because you can customize it for your group. Just enter 10 multiple choice questions on our website, and hit print to generate your unique maze trivia quiz. Make enough copies for your students (or for younger children, just give a copy to chaperones to read to the students) and bring them with you on your fieldtrip. How it Works for Students 1. As students enter the maze, you will pass out their question sheet complete with 10 questions and answers. For younger students, it may be best to just give quizes to adult leaders to read to the students. But for older students, this can be a great way to practice reading skills. 2. When students come to each of the numbered checkpoints in the corn maze, they will read the corresponding question on their card. For example, the students come to checkpoint #1. They will then look at their card and read what question #1 is and go in the direction of the answer they think is right. 3. So, correct answers show learning, and also help them master the maze. Types of Questions Each class that visits our maze is studying different topics, so we are putting the power into your hands. You can create customized questions to fit the needs of your class. You can upload questions related to our theme or 60 other categories. http://www.mazetrivia.com/viewmaze.php?id=131 Or, you can create questions about some topic that your class is studying. For example, you could ask history questions, ask question to practice for an upcoming science test, create some simple math problems, or even practice that week's spelling words. How it Works for Teachers 1. Creating your question sheet is easy. First, it is probably best to create your questions in a separate document as a backup. Each question will need the question, the correct answer, and up to two incorrect answers. 2. Once you have your questions, you need to get them to match up with the right way to go in the maze. Luckily, the Maze Master takes care of all the hard work for you. Since he knows the maze by heart, just tell him the questions, right answers, and wrong answers, and he will generate your question sheet for you. To enter your questions, visit the maze master. Just enter your questions in the form and click "View Printable Sheet" at the bottom when finished. 3. Once you have finished entering questions, be sure to click "View Printable Sheet". Your question sheet will automatically generate. Make sure you print your sheet. It does not get sent to us, and we have no way of printing it. You must print or make copies of your sheet for each student/group leader and bring them with you on your trip. Trivia FAQs Do we have to use trivia with the maze? No, but it does add an extra educational component to your trip if desired. Do I have to write the questions? You certain may write the questions, but we do have some premade written categories online that you can print including 'Farm Animal Sounds' for toddlers. Where do we get our printed quizes? You must create and print your own question sheets before arriving at the maze. We do not have access to the quizes you create. If we get every answer right, does that mean we will never get lost? No, there are many decision points (intersections) in the maze where you could go the wrong way. What is the recommended age? The concept of asking a child a question could apply to any age, but children in kindergarten on up will benefit the most. For young children, it may be best to just give the quiz to leaders and they can verbally ask the students the questions.
