Admission guidelines for Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing
Academic year 2014-15.
Duration of course: 1year.
i.e. from 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015.
Objectives :

To provide high standard of Nursing Education and Practice.

To strengthen the capabilities of the Nursing Students towards Patient care by
adopting Global Innovations.
Recognition :

Karnataka Nursing Council (KNC), Bangalore and

Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.
Total intake : 15 seats.
Course fees : Rs. 30,000/-
FINANCIAL ASISSTANCE PROVIDED BY THE COLLEGE: Stipend of Rs.5000/month.
HOSTEL FACILITIES : AVAILABLE.
Admission Terms and Conditions :
The Students seeking admission to this course, should:

Be registered nurse (RN & RM) or equivalent and GNM or B.Sc Nursing

Nurses from other countries must obtain an equivalent certificate from INC before
admission

Be physically fit.
Last date for submission of application : 20th March 2014.


Provision of a wide learning experience in various oncology departments/units inclusive
of Medical/BMT/Surgical/radiation oncology/ nuclear medicine;PET/CT, Cyclotron unit,
Cyber knife, LINAC, Digital mammogram unit etc.

Competent Teaching and supporting staff.

ATTENDANCE :
The Student has attended not less than 75% of the instruction hours in each subject during the
year is eligible to attend final examination.
EXAMINATION:
The Examination to be conducted by Karnataka State Nursing Examination Board which is
recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, NewDelhi.
STANDARD OF PASSING

Passing Percentage – 75% and above : Distinction.
60% and above : First Class
50% and above : Second Class

50% marks in internal Assessment and External Examination

Maximum No. of attempts for passing : 3.
in each paper is mandatory.
CERTIFICATION :
TITLE : POST BASIC DIPLOMA IN ONCOLOGY NURSING
A diploma is awarded from
KARNATAKA STATE DIPLOMA IN NURSING EXAMINATION BOARD
Upon successful completion of the prescribed study programme
Which will state that

iii) Candidate has passed the prescribed examination.
