Open Text Web Solutions version 10.x
Open Text Web Solutions version 10 was the 2009 major release of our leading
Web Content Management offering. Version 10.1 was released in August 2010
with SP1 coming out in January 2011.
This release has been designed with usability aspects in mind to deliver a better
experience to the site visitor, empower business users and power editors, allow
agile and innovative content creation, and let organizations control their content
processes.
This presentation will briefly cover some of the new features available in WS10.x
and UI design changes. What should you prepare for when upgrading? What are
some of the upgrade paths, options, and help available to you to succeed?

Configurable Process Management
Configurable Process Manager
A new configurable Process Manager has
been implemented which allows the assigning
of priorities, and the assigning of processes
(e.g. publication, Validation) to queues.
This allows administrators to define where they want their CMS performance
to be focused, for example you may assign priority for faster publishing, or
assign priority to processes which increase the responsiveness of CMS to
content editors.

Upgrade Paths
Management Server
 If your current RedDot CMS version is 6.0 or later, you can update directly to
version 10.x.
 If your installation has a build number earlier than 5.0.0.49, you will have to
update to Version 5.0 first.
Delivery Server
 The Delivery Server 10.x installation will install a completely new Delivery Server
system.
 If you want to migrate data from an earlier version of Delivery Server or RedDot
LiveServer to Delivery Server 10.x, you can do this using the Delivery Server
Migration Tool.
