WALKING IN-STEP WITH THE SPIRIT: 31 DAYS SERIES.
INTRODUCTION
The Holy Spirit is a gift sent to live inside each of us who believe in Jesus, in order to produce God's character in our lives. Naturally human beings cannot rely on themselves, thus the Holy Spirit was sent to build in our lives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Rather than trying to rely on our own strength to gain these attributes, God asks us to depend on Him to produce these qualities in our lives. Therefore as disciples we are encouraged to walk in step with the Spirit (Gal. 5:25) and be filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18) even as we go for the festive season.
In this series, we will focus on two parts in our discussions. Part 1, The Acts of the sinful nature and part Two The Role of the Holy
Spirit.
DAY 1. THE BATTLE WITHIN.
Galatians 5:17.
“For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.”
As a disciple today, there are two forces that are constantly in conflict against each other and live within you.
The sinful nature (spirit of vices.) and God’s Spirit (Spirit of virtues.)
Verse 19 lists the acts of the sinful nature.
Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness; orgies and the like.
Verse 22 lists the fruit of the Spirit.
These include; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
In life every Christian battles as each side desires to take control. During the festive season, you will encounter moments where you will have to make choices, to live according to the Spirit or according to the sinful nature.
Are you ready for the BATTLE?
(The memory verse for week 1. Galatians 5:17)
PART 1.THE ACTS OF THE SINFUL NATURE. (The spirit of VICES) Galatians 5:19-21
This passage divides the vices into four groups. Sensual sins, irreligious practices, Relational sins and drunkenness and orgies.
DAY 2. WE ARE NOT UNAWARE OF HIS SCHEMES.
Group 1. Sensual sins.
1 Peter 5:8.
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Sexual vices of all kinds prevail in the world today. (Fornication, adultery, incest, homosexuality, masturbation, pornography and the list continues.) The TV, the movies, the Internet and magazines have become Satan’s main agents of spreading these sensual vices.
Are you aware of his schemes in your life? Lack of self-control and alertness will get you into his traps.
2 Corinthians 2:11
‘…in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.’
In addressing an issue on forgiveness in the Corinth church, Paul makes this striking statement in the verse above. Satan has ability to outwit anyone by his schemes. In the festive time, these are the same media that he will use to cause many to stumble. In your battle against sexual temptations, get some time today to pray for a discerning Spirit to make good judgment. 2 Corinthians 2:14-15.
Psalms 143:10.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
DAY 3. LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR OWN BODY.
1 Thessalonians. 4:3-8
It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;
God’s will for you this holiday is that you should be sanctified by learning to control your body in a way that honors him. You learn to control your body by constantly practicing to do the right thing. The body that is accustomed to sinful practices slowly adjusts to the sinful nature. As the whole society around you live as they feel, have the discipline to be self controlled. Ephesians. 5:3.
Job 31:2.
I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.
DAY 4.CASE STUDY: JOSEPH AND POTIPHAR’S WIFE.
Genesis 39:1-23.
The life of Joseph is very inspirational in fighting sexual temptation. As a slave, sold to Pharaoh’s officials household as a servant.
The Lord was with him and he found favor in his master’s eyes. Potiphar put him in charge of everything he owned. In his success, the devil visited him through his master’s wife. The quest was simply, ‘come to bed with me.’ The woman kept pestering him over and over and over again until one day she got hold of him to force him to have sex with her.
How did he manage to stand such a test? There are three lessons that we can embrace as we fight this vice of sexual temptation over the festive season. 1. Having the conviction that we sin against God. 2. Drawing the line. (Have clear boundaries.) 3. Flee from tempting situations.
1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
DAY 5. IDOLATRY AND WITCHCRAFT.
Galatians 5:20. Group 2. Sins of irreligion
During the festivities, we will also be faced with the sin of idolatry and witchcraft.
We live in a city full of idol worship, (the worship of money, jobs, careers, education, internet, relationships etc).
In the villages people live in fear and many false narratives are told related to witchcraft. What has been your idol in 2015? Have you been a slave to the fear of witchcraft?
Revelations 18:23
The people of the city in revelation were denied the privilege of the Lamb of God and the voice of the bridegroom because of their dependence on idolatry and witchcraft. We lose the connection with God through the Spirit when we indulge in other practices that take our attention from God.
Acts 19:19
Denounce that lifestyle and make Jesus the Lord. You must acknowledge that Jesus has authority over evil. Matthew 28:19.
DAY 6. IN YOUR HEART, SET APART CHRIST AS LORD.
1 Peter 3:13-15
Who is going to harm you when you are eager to do what is good? But even if you suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Many people are controlled by fear of witchcraft and evil spirits in the village. As a disciple, you should not fear what everyone else fears. The fear of witchcraft. Remember that you are very special and blessed to God. Living a set apart life is a tough journey, but full of blessings from God. In your heart, set apart your Jesus as Lord. Nothing and no one comes above him.
Romans 8:15
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.
DAY 7. CASE STUDY: SIMON THE SORCERER.
Acts 8:18-24.
Simon was a man in Samaria who had practiced sorcery and amazed many people with his magic acts. When the word of God reached
Samaria, many people got saved. Simon was among the new converts. The Apostles visited the region and laid their hands on them so that they could receive the Holy Spirit. This incident exposed the heart of Simon the former sorcerer. His conversion was put to question. His heart was still full of bitterness and captive to sin.
When God looks at your heart today who does he see? Simon had become a disciple but in his thinking, he was still behaving like the man he was before, the sorcerer.
1 Corinthians 2:14
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgment about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment.
DAY 8. SINS OF THE HEART. Group 3. Relational sins.
Galatians 5:20b-21a.
The world is filled with people full of hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions and envy.
Surprisingly, we can have the same in the church of God. Paul addresses these issues in the Corinth church.
1 Corinthians 3:3.
You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?
How has your heart been in this year? How are you finishing the year? In hatred? In discord? In jealousy? In anger and fits of rage? In selfish ambitions? With a spirit of dissension? In factions or tribalism? With an envious spirit?
There should be a distinction between you and the rest of the people who do not know God. Our country is tribalistic. How different are you? Are there people who hurt you during the year? What are you going to do about it? These sins have been put in the same list with the sins of sexual immorality. Anger, hatred, bitterness, envy, selfishness, dissension, factions are as evil as sexual sins.
(The memory verse for week 2. Galatians 5:24)
DAY 9. CASE STUDY: CAIN AND ABEL.
Genesis 4:2b-10.
The two sons of Adam presented their gifts to God. God was pleased with Abel’s offering and not Cain’s. This caused Cain to be very envious and angry. The devil took advantage the situation and his anger. Remember the devil is like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Verse 6.
Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
What would the LORD say to you today? What issue would the LORD address in your life today from Galatians 5:19-21? Sin hovers around desiring to get anyone who does not do the good they ought to do. Take some time today and say this prayer with David;
Psalms 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
DAY 10.GET RID OF ALL.
Ephesians 4:31-32
Get rid of bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with any form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 5:26-27. Matthew 5:23-25. Deal with matters quickly before the sun goes down lest you give the devil a foothold.
God is calling you today to get rid of all of these sins of the heart. Let the Lord avenge for you.
Galatians 5:24
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
The cross of Jesus is a place of forgiveness; it is a place where you find God reconciling with us. Since you belong to Christ, crucify all these vices on the cross. Let the festive season be a time to make peace with those who have hurt you and next year be a new year both inside and outside for you.
DAY 11. Galatians 5:21b. BE CAREFUL HOW YOU LIVE, THE DAYS ARE EVIL.
Group 4. Drunkenness, orgies and the like. Ephesians 5:15-18.
The festive season cannot be complete without a well packaged pit of alcohol and all sorts of worldly parties. Paul exhorted the disciples in Ephesus to be very careful how they lived. The same applies to us today. The days are evil. How are you going to celebrate the birth of Jesus? The world will be full of orgies and drinking. Be filled with the Spirit and let him take control of how you spend the holiday.
Galatians 5:16
So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
DAY 12. LET US BEHAVE DECENTLY.
Romans 13:13-14
A lot of indecent acts happen in the dark. Many people, in celebrating the birth of Jesus, will indulge in drinking, sexual immorality and many other vices. The temptation is to want to be like everybody else and do the same things.
Verse 12b . So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Will you be different today? Will you clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus today? Will you refuse to think of how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature and put on the armor of light?
2 Timothy 3:1-5
You need to be careful not to fall into the trap of those who live as they wish (Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God) having a form of godliness with no change of heart.
DAY 13. CASE STUDY: LOT AND HIS DAUGHTERS.
Genesis 19:30-38.
God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, because of sin, but saved Lot, a righteous man. He escaped with his wife and two daughters but lost his wife on the way, because she looked back contrary to the instructions from the LORD. She became a pillar of salt. He held to his dear daughters, and escaped into the mountains. The moment of temptation came, just like it does to everyone. The daughters of
Lot in fear and faithlessness used alcohol to trap their father into an act of incest.
How could a righteous man of God do such a thing? How? Alcoholism is one of the major causes of dysfunctional families. As you go for the festive season, do not underestimate the power of alcohol and the damage it can do to you and those you care about.
Proverbs 23:29-35
Look at what the Bible says about alcohol. That is quite sobering.
Proverbs 20:1
Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
PART TWO. THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Galatians 5:17
So I say to you, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
DAY 14. THE SPIRIT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.
Genesis 1:2
In the beginning, the earth was formless and void. God's Spirit existed and was on the move.
He moved upon the face of the earth as a chicken gathers his chicks under her wings and hovers over them to warm and cherish them.
The earth was formless and void. Through the Spirit, God made a new the formless world. In the same way, anyone who does not have the Spirit of God lives in confusion. The world today is empty and void, full of confusion, since it is without God. This confusion and emptiness of the world without God’s Spirit is what you will see as people celebrate the festive season. Naturally we are empty and live in darkness by ourselves (due to our sinful nature) until God's Spirit comes and takes control of our lives.
Will people see the difference in your life since you live by the Holy Spirit?
DAY 15. THE SPIRIT HELPS US IN OUR WEAKNESS.
Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
While on holiday, as people travel, it is easy to feel alone and like sin will definitely overpower you. Constantly remember that the
Holy Spirit is always there as your helper. Even when your discipling partner and other disciples are not with you, the Spirit is with you and will counsel you. He will teach you what you need to overcome and will remind you of Jesus’ promises and commands.
You will not be alone, the Helper is with you. Be humble and get help from him in prayer.
Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance to God’s will.
Memory verse for week 3. Romans 8:26
DAY 16. DO NOT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Ephesians 4:30
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
We are called not to grieve the Holy Spirit. In this holiday season, what are some of the things that if you did would cause grief to the
Holy Spirit? There are many things that the devil plans to throw our way to tempt us and when we give in, will cause grief to the Holy
Spirit. We have to say NO to the things that grieve the Spirit and YES to those that values the Spirit.
Colossians 3:5-9
The call is to put to death whatever that belongs to your sinful nature. Are you able to identify what in your character grieves the
Spirit? Make a decision to work on it and refuse to feed it until it dies. It pleases the Lord when we deliberately die to the sinful nature.
DAY 17. QUENCH NOT THE SPIRIT’S FIRE.
1 Thessalonians 5:19
Do not quench the Spirit.
Fire can be quenched by pouring water or a great quantity of dirt on it. The Bible considers the Spirit as a fire. A fire that may be extinguished. Wherever the Spirit is, it burns. It burns the flame of holy love, the flame of peace, patience, kindness, goodness and self-control. How do we quench the Spirit’s fire? By doing things that oppose the work of the Holy Spirit and gratifying the sinful nature. As the festive season continues, we are all in danger of engaging ourselves in activities that will completely quench the Spirit’s fire. Therefore you must be careful not to put out the Spirit fire.
Does your lifestyle pour water and dirt on the Spirit’s fire within you? You can change that today; it’s never too late in God’s family.
God is giving you a new day to rekindle the Spirit’s fire. Take some time on your knees and like King David pray,
Psalms 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God. And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
2 Timothy 1:6
For this reason I remind you fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
DAY 18. FEEDING THE SPIRIT.
Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
The sinful nature is like the force of gravity and the Spirit of God like the force of aerodynamics. Gravity will always be there and so is the sinful nature. The force of aerodynamics is always greater than the force of gravity. But without fuel in the plane (YOU), it does not matter how strong the plane is, gravity will bring the plane down. You need to constantly feed the plane with fuel which is the
Word of God for you to be able to realize the Power of God’s Spirit in you.
As you feed the physical body in the celebrations, remember to feed the spiritual body as well with the word of God.
DAY 19. THE ONE WHO IS IN YOU IS GREATER THAN THE ONE WHO IS IN THE WORLD.
1 John 4:4
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one in the world.
Do you realize the potential behind the Spirit of God living in you today? Sometimes it can be very easy to look at temptations in the world and feel like you will not make it. The multitudes of those living according to the sinful nature over the festivity can be enticing.
Do not give in. You are just on the right path.
Romans 8:11
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
The Spirit of God which raised Jesus from the dead will also give us victory as we keep in-step with him. As you go out today, remember that the one in you is greater than the one in the world. Resolve to listen to the voice of the Spirit. The voice of the Spirit is stronger than the voice of the flesh.
DAY 20.THE MIND SET ON WHAT THE SPIRIT DESIRES.
Romans 8:5
Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
The mind can only focus in the direction you direct it to. If you enjoy what feeds the sinful nature, then that is exactly what will occupy your mind. It is easier to set the mind on the sinful nature. But setting the mind on the desires of the Spirit, will take more effort, prayer and feeding it with godly stuff. Make it your goal to feed your mind with the following, as Paul encourages the
Philippians.
Philippians 4:8
Finally , brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirableif anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.
DAY 21. THE SPIRIT’S PRESENCE.
Psalms 139:7
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
The Spirit is everywhere. Wherever you go, remember God is omnipresent. Discipleship is not a practice that we do in the presence of other disciples only but wherever we go. In our country, prominent people walk around with a high security detail. It looks very safe for them. The kind of security given by God’s Spirit cannot be afforded by any currency. It is heavenly. It is free and readily available to all God’s children. God’s Spirit is not a threat to us but a privilege for us.
John 14:16
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-the Spirit of Truth.
As you move around and enjoy your holidays, remember that you are in the company of the Spirit. You can never be out of HIS sight.
DAY22. A FEW GOOD MEN
Genesis 6:8
'but Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.'
When everyone else lived as they pleased, Noah through the Spirit, walked with God.
He was a righteous man and blameless among the people of his time.
In his quest to renew the world, God included Noah in the plan. Today all of us who walk in step with God's
Spirit have been called for the same mission of cleansing through evangelism. During this time of the year, many people indulge into all kinds of sinful activities. People live as they please in the name of celebrating the birth of Christ.
Will you be counted among the few good men?
Numbers 14:24
But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring him into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall posses it.
Memory verse for week 4. John 6:63
DAY 23. THE COUNSELOR WILL TEACH YOU AND REMIND YOU.
John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, who the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Before Jesus went back to heaven, he promised his disciples the Holy Spirit. The Spirit was going to counsel them in his absence and direct them in how they were going to be henceforth. As you enjoy the festivity, remember that God’s Spirit is with you. Many people will make very unwise decisions, in many areas of their lives, including things like how they spend their money, the places they will go for the holidays, the people they will hang out with. Allow the Spirit to lead you in all your decisions and you will not live in regrets at the end of the holidays.
Ezekiel 36:27
And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
DAY 24. CHOICES AND CONSEQUENCES.
Genesis 2:31
God made everything a new and saw that everything that he had made was very good.
Genesis 3:1-6.
After the remarkable restoration of the world through God's Spirit, sin entered the world. Eve battled through the temptation from the
serpent to choose between God’s commands and what the Devil claimed God meant. The struggle between the Spirit of God and the sinful nature. We will all go through those moments over the festive period. You will or have already been faced with moments of,
‘Did God really say?’ those moments when you doubt the word of God and give into the temptation. Adam and Eve made choices to ignore God’s commands and followed the serpent’s advice. The choices that you will make as you celebrate the festive will have consequences. Strive to make choices that please the Spirit and not the flesh.
DAY 25. THE SPIRIT OF COURAGE.
Acts 4:1-13.
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus.
Peter and John, after the healing of a crippled man in chapter 3, were speaking to the people. The priests, the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them as they spoke, greatly disturbed, they seized them and put them to jail. They were brought before the council the next day to be questioned. Peter full of the Holy Spirit stood up and courageously defended the gospel. Everyone present saw his courage and took note that the disciples had been with Jesus. The festive season offers an opportunity for opposition as well.
Our lives as disciples are not always attractive to everyone. Some people will be disturbed by your new life as a Christian. Will you allow the Holy Spirit in you give you courage to defend the gospel of Jesus Christ? People take note when a disciple stands out for what they believe.
May the Spirit give you courage as you stand up for Jesus?
Matthew 10:32
“Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my father in heaven.”
DAY 26. LISTENING TO THE SPIRIT’
Acts 8:26-39
As a royal priesthood, the Spirit is always present with us. Many times he will give us prompting, suggestions, leadings and directions we should go. Therefore we have to be attentive to his voice and be quick to follow his guidance. Phillip, a man full of the Spirit, not only listened to the Spirit, but obeyed him. During festivity, the schedules can be very busy and full of distractions. Choose to pay attention to the Spirit’s voice.
DAY 27. YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD’S SPIRIT
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?
When countries host prominent persons, they are usually proud. The security is heightened and all necessary measures are put to provide excellent hospitality. In Kenya, we hosted two high profile guests, the Pope Francis and the U.S president Obama. This was historic. The government used a lot of resources in preparations and hosting. God has given you a bigger opportunity to host an even powerful person, God the Spirit, not for a short term, but for life. You are the temple of God.
Romans 8:11
What a privilege to host the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead! God wants you to treat your body as sacred and be hospitable to the Spirit. He feels offended when you do not do so.
How well are you taking care of God’s temple?
DAY 28. PRAY AT ALL TIMES IN THE SPIRIT.
Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Many times our sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit. It is a real warfare. Prayer is essential in this ongoing battle. Pray hard and at all times. Pray for your brothers and sisters who are also in this same warfare. Pray that you will not only make it but others as well. Put down a list of disciples that you will be praying for today. Take some time to pray for them as you mention their names and needs if possible.
Luke 22:31-32
‘Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
DAY 29. THE SPIRIT GIVES LIFE, THE FLESH COUNTS FOR NOTHING.
John 6:60-71
The Spirit gives life, the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
These were Jesus’ words to the disciples when many deserted him saying that his teachings were hard and unacceptable. Keeping instep with the Spirit is not easy. It was tough for the disciples and many left. It will be tough for us as well today. We are moving against the current. The flesh deceives and leads many astray, but the Spirit gives life. As you enjoy the festive season, stick with the
Spirit, just as Peter stuck with Jesus and say together with Peter,
“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”
DAY 30. THE OBLIGATION FOR EVERY DISCIPLE.
Romans 8:12-14
Therefore brothers, we have an obligation-but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the
Spirit of God are sons of God.
Even though God has given us the Spirit, he has also given us a responsibility. We have an ‘obligation.’ It’s about choices and choices have consequences. Choosing to live by the sinful nature brings death. Choosing to live by the Spirit brings life. Which would you rather? The festive season comes with many short-lived temptations. (How you will spend your money, the places you will go for hangouts and how you will be entertained by the media.)
You have the obligation to choose what will either build you spiritually or destroy you spiritually. Make the right choices.
DAY 31.FINISH BY THE SPIRIT.
2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith.
Today is the last day of the year. How do you feel? How has the year been for you? Congratulations for fighting the good fight and keeping the faith. God is giving you today a new slate, a new page and a fresh start. May the Lord guide you over the next 365 days of the New Year. Take some time today to thank God for walking with you through the year and enabling you to stand to the end.
When you walk with the Lord,
In the light of his Word.
What a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey for there’s no other way,
To be happy in Jesus, but thro’
Trust and obey.
2 Corinthians 13:14
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
