Categorical and Other Grants
Information and Template Instructions
1. 2014/15 is a transition year, in terms of the changes to reporting and planning, for a number of categorical grants as well as for overall school division reporting and
planning.
2. Use this template to submit outcome reports for the Aboriginal Academic Achievement (AAA), Career Development (CD), Early Literacy Intervention (ELI),
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), English as an Additional Language (EAL), Middle Years Life/Work Exploration (MYL/WE), Numeracy (N),
Quality Education Initiative (QEI) and Senior Years Technology Education (SYT) grants received for the 2014/15 school year.
3. The financial allocations for each grant are to be reported in two categories, “salaries” and “other”, signed off by the school division Secretary-Treasurer, and submitted to
the department. The signature page can be submitted as part of the full electronic report (#4 below), faxed or mailed separately to:

Note: If a faxed or scanned version of the financial report is submitted to the department, school divisions must keep an original copy on file for auditing purposes.
4. Please email completed reports for all listed grants to: ruth.parnetta@gov.mb.ca by October 31, 2015.
5. Beginning in 2015/16, school division grant reporting and planning for the AAA, EAL, and the NEW Literacy and Numeracy, will be integrated into school division
planning, with a focus on literacy and numeracy. Further information about changes to grants in 2015/16, as well as changes to the planning and reporting processes,

6. A NEW grant template has been developed for (2015/16 and on) reporting and planning for the Senior Years Technology, Career Development Initiative and Learning to
Age 18 grants, organized under a Focus on the Future plan, as well as the ECDI grant. The new template will be available at
