HOSA Officer Job Description Secretary Congratulations on running for the office of Secretary. Below are the job duties for this HOSA Office. If elected to this position you will be required to complete these tasks. Please prepare a 3 minute speech detailing how you are planning to complete these tasks. Your speech must be very specific and detailed as to how you will accomplish all of the duties you will be charged with. Please give a copy of your speech to Mrs. Liles and Mrs. Ward three days before the election meeting. MP HOSA counts on the officers to keep the club running effectively. If you do not make adequate progress towards completing these responsibilities you will be given one warning and if progress is still not being made you will be replaced by an officer appointed by the HOSA Advisors. Duties and Responsibilities of the HOSA Secretary Attend HOSA Fall Leadership Meeting on October 4, 2011 Attend all HOSA Club meetings and assist all officers in the completion of their duties. Assist with HOSA competitive events sign ups, study materials preparation and pick up and trips. Assist in compiling and submitting the Outstanding HOSA Chapter packet during January/February 2012. Assist in room assignments for State competition. Complete other duties that may be assigned by the HOSA Advisors Minutes - Record minutes from all club and officer meetings and submit a copy to Advisors and officers within 48 hours of all meetings. Fall Canned Food Drive – Coordinate the food drive & publicize the canned food drive to members of the club and to the student body as a whole – go on the announcements and develop a plan for school wide collection. Deliver collected items to the selected recipient. Take pictures and write a summary report for the newsletter. Adopt a Family – Find a suitable family for holiday adoption & publicize the needs/wish list of the family to members at a HOSA meeting. Deliver collected items to the selected recipient/ agency. Take pictures and write a summary report for the newsletter. Newsletter – Compile a quarterly newsletter for members highlighting HOSA activities. Additionally submit a Newsletter for the State and National Competitions. (this is a club competitive event, so Secretary is still eligible to compete in an individual competitive events)
