For Immediate Release KC Running Company and Digital Ally Open Collaborate for first Digital Ally Open 5K (Overland Park, Kan.) – The Kansas City Crusaders are pleased to announce that they will be hosting the first annual Digital Ally Open 5K Presented by HCA Midwest, with collaboration from The KC Running Company. “quote” The Digital Ally Open 5K is taking place in conjunction with the Digital Ally Open, Kansas City’s only PGA TOUR sanctioned event, and will help kick off the week’s events on August 1st. The 5K will help raise money for the four main beneficiaries of this year’s tournament, Children’s Mercy Kansas City, SAFE, Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) and National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. “We are excited to work with The Digital Ally Open to provide a new event that appeals to golfer and runners and to help support charities in a new and different way,” said Brad Ziegler, Event Coordinator at KC Running Company. The KC Running Company helps put on 5K’s, 10K’s and Half Marathons around the Kansas City Metro Area, with their biggest events being The Plaza 10k and the Rock the Parkway Half Marathon. The Kansas City Crusaders are also pleased to have HCA Midwest on board as presenting sponsor of the 5K. “Quote” The 5K, which kicks off in the REI at Prairie Fire’s parking lot at 7:30am on August 1st, will include prizes, a kid’s race (also known as the Lil’ Duffers Fun Run), and REI will be open to all runners before store hours.
