Applications are in the C.C. and they ask that they are returned no later than April 10, 2013. The college scholarship is awarded after successfully enrolling in college for the second semester. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college. The Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg is accepting applications for its Building Independent Women Scholarship(s) for this 2012-2013 school year. Applications are available in the C.C. A. Applicant must be a citizen of the U.S. or have a permanent resident status. B. Applicant must submit: 1) Application with the recommendation of the building industry related instructor of professionals. 2) Essay of 200 words or more describing career goals and why applicant should be awarded the scholarship. 3) A copy of latest grade transcript and SAT scores. The Harrisburg Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Association is offering the HSPDPA Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Essay Contest. The essay topic is “My future goals, and why am I deserving of a scholarship.” Ex. – tell us what attributes, traits, beliefs or values you hold that make you deserving. (Also remember, an interest in Irish heritage/history is a judging criteria.) Who is eligible: High school seniors and post high school freshman enrolled in accredited college or technical school. Scholarship Awards: There are several scholarships available (this past year 8 were awarded) ranging from $500 on up. Pittsburgh Technical Institute Design and Drafting Scholarship. Deadline: Friday, March 22, 2013 Awards: $1500 to $7000. High school faculty can enter two students per category (2D CAD, 3D CAD, REVIT Architecture, INVENTOR or SOLIDWORKS Mechanical, or Photoshop) for this April 10, 2013 competition on PTI’s Campus. Graduating high school students will once again have the opportunity to receive scholarship funds from PSECU. To qualify for one of six $8,000 PSECU Scholarships, the student must be a PSECU member by Monday, December 31, 2012. IMPORTANT! Students who are PSECU members can download an application at psecu.com/scholarships. The application has a section that the student fills out and an Academic Profile that the counselor fills out. The counselor will mail all packet information on February 22, 2013 to ensure they meet the PSECU deadline. The James K. Adams and Arlene L. Adams Foundation will award tuition assistance based on merit, community involvement, good moral character, a promise of success or achievement, and financial need for the 2013-2014 academic year. The Foundation has awarded more than $505,000 in no interest loans and other student financial assistance, including last year’s awards totaling $60,000. Eligible students must be graduates of high schools in eastern and central Cumberland County or of high schools in Perry County. Applicants must have applied for further education, including a 2 or 4 year degree program, and disbursement of no-interest tuition loan funds will be made directly to the educational institution at which the student enrolls. Each applicant is required to submit the following items to the Foundation by April 1, 2013 to be considered for financial assistance: 1. Letter of recommendation from guidance counselor or college faculty advisor. 2. Letter of recommendation from applicant’s priest, rabbi or minister. 3. Letter to Board of Directors from applicant setting forth his or her goals and plans to attain those goals including a statement of applicant’s reasons for applying for this loan, appreciation of virtue of working to accomplish his or her goals, and examples of out-ofschool activities demonstrating community involvement and moral character. 4. Transcript through first half of senior year or current year of higher education studies. 5. Photocopy of completed application for Pennsylvania State Grant or Federal Student Aid. 6. The Perry County Sportsmen for Youth will present a $500.00 scholarship to one resident of each of the following school districts: Greenwood, Newport, Susquenita and West Perry. The applicant must be a senior and must be entering a field of study relating to wildlife management, forestry, conservation, environmental science or related field. The Perry County Sportsmen for Youth Scholarship is open to all graduating seniors residing in the above school districts, regardless of the school they attend. The Carlisle Area Healthcare Auxiliary/Carlisle Area Health and Wellness Foundation annually provides scholarship funds to qualified recipients that plan to enter a program as a R.N., L.P.N. Medical Technician, Physical Therapist, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technician or Radiology Technology. The applicant must be accepted into a school/program to receive a degree or certification in one of the above approved professions. Students accepted into a Pre-Program will not be eligible. The recipient will be selected on the basis of financial need, personal commitment and scholastic record. Deadline for submitting is April 15, 2013. The scholarship committee will review applications and conduct interviews. All will be notified in June 2013 of decisions. Applications are available in the C.C. PA State Hunters Organization will present a $500.00 scholarship to one resident of the West Perry School District. The applicant must be a senior and must be entering into a field of study relating to wildlife management, forestry, conservation, environmental science or a related field. The PA State Hunters Organization Scholarship is open to all graduating seniors residing in the Wes Perry School District. Home schooled and private schooled students are welcome to apply. Wildlife Leadership Academy – The goal of the Academy is to give you the knowledge and leadership tools to become conservation leaders in your home community and beyond.
