History in Film—1st Quarter Film List
Because this is a new course, the curriculum will evolve based on the needs of the students and films that present as
good sources of information throughout the year. A comprehensive list of films has not been developed, so film
approval and permission request will be sent home quarterly. You are asked to review the list of films to be viewed,
purpose of viewing, and provide permission for your student to view the films.
Please indicate which, if any films, you DO NOT wish for your student to view. They will be given an alternative
assignment without penalty and the time of the viewing. Signing below indicates permission for your student to watch
all films this quarter.
Last of the Mohicans (R—violence)
Assignments will include research of various Native American tribes.
Schindler’s List (R—violence and nudity)
Assignments will included study of the Holocaust and character analysis
Thor (PG-13)
Study of cultural differences
Clash of the Titans (PG)
Greek and Roman mythology; psychology of gods and goddesses
Captain America (PG-13)
Impact of technology on war and development of weapons
