6A Gold Homework Week of September 21-25 (Science) Mrs. Dextraze: Notebook Weekly : Make sure your notebook is up-to-date and complete. Make sure your work in it is complete, fill in titles, dates, page titles, update TOC, and make sure the pages you used are numbered. WEDNESDAY Tools and Science Process Skills vocab quiz Thursday 9/24: No homework tonight. Weekend SUNDAY 9/27 at 8 PM if not cloudy: LOOK UP AT THE MOON> THERE WILL BE AN AMAZING ASTRONOMICAL EVENT THAT EVERYONE HERE IN MASSACHUSETTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE, UNLESS IT IS CLOUDY. This event only happens about 5 times per century. There will be a lunar eclipse.. That means the Sun, Earth, and Moon will line up and the shadow of the Earth will slowly move over the moon. Because the Moon is closest to the Earth right now, the moon will look bigger than it usually does, which is why it is called a 'super moon'. It will begin around 8 pm on Sunday evening. This is what you should observe if there are no clouds: The moon will look large and full, then we will be able to see the Earth's shadow moving across it. When the shadow completely covers the moon, the moon will look like it turned RED! The shadow will then pass over the moon and it will be back to its nice, big, bright full moon again. Don't miss this opportunity to view this event. It only happens about every 20 years!
