The investments total 60 million dollars in production tech & work capital since 1994. It specializes in Diesel Motor production with a high-amplitude power for Argentina and MERCOSUR. The plant employs more than 500 people. Works with 350 national suppliers. Day 4 - CITY TOUR Day 5 Visit to Paladini or SWIFT SWIFT Swift Armour S.A. is an Argentinean meat processing plant, a subsidiary of Swift & Company of the USA, devoted to the production and packaging of frozen cooked meat, raw and tinned meat, as well as to the production of cold meats, hamburgers and sausages. After the company was acquired by Campbell Soup Co., it expanded to produce stock and extract. Operates 6 industrial plants . PALADINI PALADINI is the leading Argentinean company in the production of cold meats, sausages and cold cuts. As a result of its traditional recipes, permanent quality assurance and latest technology, it is one of the leading companies in the meat industry. Day 5 Visit to El Círculo Theater It is located near the historical area of the city, at the intersection of Laprida and Mendoza St. Planned as a lyrical theater, its original name was Teatro La Ópera. It was started in 1903, and inaugurated on 4 June 1904, with the performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Otello. The theater featured many artists (opera singers, ballets, and orchestras) from around the world. Enrico Caruso performed there in 1915, and compared its acoustic quality to that of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. Day 6 BUNGE or TERMINAL 6 Port Bunge Argentina is one of the most important agribusiness companies in the country. Bunge integrates the whole chain of events: from the distribution of fertilizers, receiving and storage of grains, industrialization of oilseeds, and grain commercialization -mainly destined for export markets. Terminal 6 Port The Terminal´s discharging facilities are able to unload 350 railcars and up to 1000 trucks per day. Day 6 Visit to the Stock Exchange It is a non-profit association that serves as a forum for commodity trade in several ag products including grains, & oilseeds, as well as securities and other assets. Day 7. FIRMAT. Visit to a Dairy Farm We will visit a medium size dairy farm. The milk leaves the farm to be processed and then for retail sale. Day 7 Visit to a Family-Run Feedlot This is a family run business in the middle of the Pampas. Around 1000 animals are fed a specialized diet of hay, corn, sorghum, by-products of food processing, such as sugar beet waste, molasses, and soybean meal, animal byproducts, and minerals. Cattle fed in this feedlot is then exported. The export trade has been built around the duty free Hilton Quota for the European Union. The quota is 28,000 tons, of prime cuts worth about half a billion US dollars per year. The Hilton species are British breed, 290kg carcase weight. Day 8 Visit to a Cattle Ranch A ranch of about 300 head of cattle. It also includes arable land for feed production. Day 9 Venado Tuerto- Ranch This ranch represents Argentina's cultural essence -- rustic pioneer or gaucho (classic Argentine cowboy) history and food, with horseback riding, hiking, swimming, bird-watching and the chance to watch or help out in cattle or sheepherding work (roundups, branding, shearing, calfroping). You will be spending a night at a beautiful “estancia” DAY 10 CORDOBA Visit to the Jesuit Square. Visit to the marvellous work done by Jesuits in the old buildings belonging to this Order, this is the so called Jesuit Square which has been declared Cultural Heritage to Humanity by UNESCO. DAY 11-- Colonia Caroya Visit to a farm or a Chocolate Factory The impressive food and the delicious tastes inherited from the Italian tradition are combined to invite tourists to enjoy the city of Colonia Caroya.
