The digital video recording system shall provide an entry-level digital recording and transmission system capable of storage and playback of video from 1 to 16 camera inputs at a simultaneous recording rate of up to 480/400 images per second (NTSC/PAL) at 4CIF resolution with a built-in DVD-RW drive, two USB ports, and an internal 1/100 Network Interface Card as standard equipment. B. General: Submittals shall be made in accordance with the Conditions of the Contract and Submittal Procedure Section. B. Manufacturer’s Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s data sheets indicating systems and components proposed for use, including instruction manuals. C. Shop Drawings: Submit installation drawings, including connection diagrams for interfacing equipment, list of connected equipment, and locations for major equipment components. Shop drawings shall indicate surrounding construction as provided for the Project. D. Project Record Drawings: Indicate location of equipment and wiring on project record drawings. Submit an electronic version of the project record drawings not later than Substantial Completion of the Project. E. Operation and Maintenance Data: Submit manufacturer’s operation and maintenance data customized to the system installed. Include operator manuals. F. The digital video recorder (DVR) shall meet or exceed the following design and performance specifications: 1. That DVR shall provide 4, 8, or 16 composite video inputs and looping video outputs. 2. The 4-channel DVR shall record at a rate of 120/100 images per second (NTSC/PAL), the 8-channel DVR shall record at a rate of 240/200 images per second (NTSC/PAL), and the 16-channel DVR shall record at a rate of 480/400 images per second (NTSC/PAL). The DVR shall display video in full screen or multi-screen format, with the camera number, a user-definable camera name, and the camera’s recording/alarm status displayed for each camera. 13. The DVR shall support continuous, event, and combined continuous/event recording that is user-configurable by channel, and shall support manual recording overrides of the recording schedule. 14. The DVR shall include playback controls that allow the user to play back recorded video forward or backward at multiple speeds. 15. Exporting still images (in JPEG format) and video clips (in AVI format). d. Controlling PTZ cameras. e. Simultaneous access for up to 4 users. 21. When an alarm event is detected, the DVR shall have the capability of automatically displaying video full screen, initiating recording for a set time, recording at a higher frame rate during the event, streaming video to a client PC, sending email and popup notifications, and activating an alarm beep notification, 25. The DVR shall include a system log that records and displays information relating to alarm events, reboots, and other system information. The user shall have the ability to export the log information. 26. The DVR shall adjust for Daylight Saving Time changes, with no loss of video when the clock advances forward one hour. When the clock is adjusted backward when Daylight Saving Time ends, the DVR shall record both hours, allowing the user to select which hour to play back. 27. The DVR shall include a hidden camera feature that allows the administrator to hide certain cameras from a user. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. 3.2 Examine site conditions prior to installation. Notify Architect and Owner in writing if unsuitable conditions are encountered. Do not start installation until site conditions are acceptable. INSTALLATION A. All components of the camera system shall be thoroughly tested before shipping to the project location. B. Coordinate interfaces with other products with Owner’s representative where appropriate. 2. Provide conduit, cable, and wire for complete and reliable installation. Obtain Owner’s approval for exact location of cameras, boxes, conduit, cable, and wiring runs prior to installation. 3. Install conduit, cable, and wire parallel and square with building lines, including raised floors areas. Do not exceed 40 percent fill in conduits. Gather and tie wires for orderly installation. 4. Coordinate with other trades to provide proper sequencing of installation. FIELD COMMISSIONING AND CERTIFICATION A. Field Commissioning: Test bullet camera system as recommended by manufacturer, including the following: 1. Conduct complete inspection and testing of equipment, including verification of operation with connected equipment. 2. Test devices and demonstrate operational features for Owner’s representative and authorities having jurisdiction, as applicable. 3. Correct deficiencies until satisfactory results are obtained. 4.
