Google Directory
• The directory itself can be found in the upper
left hand corner of Google.com
• The directory has links to the many different
tools and sites that are owned by Google
What is a Google account?
• A Google account is a personal user account
that provides access to services provided by
Google. A Google account functions as a single
log-on across Google ; you need to create only
a single Google account to access all Google
services
Why do you need a Google account?
• While you can use many Google services,
including its main search page without a
Google account, other services require the
user to establish an account and to be signed
into the account in order to use that service.
For example, to access your individual Google
Docs documents, you need to be signed into
your Google account; all your documents are
stored under your account name.
Which Google services require a
Google account
• Those services (what Google calls “products”)
that store personal information are more likely
to require the establishment of a Google
account. They include Google Docs, Google
Calendar, Gmail, Blogger, YouTube, and
iGoogle

Well for one it is by far the easiest way to create and edit
documents and then update or pull up the document on any
other device such as a different lap top or smart phone
around the world.
Using Web Based
