3.2 Practical experience in teaching and the development of teaching
I served as a consultant for theological education at several institutions and several occasions and also
published several reports on theological education during my time as Principal of T.E.E. College.
I have 16 years full time experience in the teaching of New Testament Studies plus 11 years (7 years
part time) experience in the teaching of New Testament Greek.
 The teaching of New Testament courses during my academic career includes the full scopus of
the field of New Testament Studies (Canonicity, Textual Criticism, Background, Hermeneutics,
Exegesis, NT Theology, NT Ethics, Synoptic Gospels and Acts, Johannine Literature, Pauline
Literature, Hebrews and the General Epistles). It also includes the whole range of
undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students – from 1st years to honours, masters and
doctoral levels. I was responsible for the development of a number of these courses.
 A very successful basic Greek course was developed and taught by myself for 9 years at the
University of Johannesburg, specifically designed for the needs of church ministry. I taught
mainly Greek Grammar and Theological Themes from the New Testament, as well as Greek
Prose on Honours level and Classical Culture.
