BCS Strategic Planning Student Questionnaire
1 – What one thing BCS does better than the last school you attended?
Or if you have not attended another school, what one thing stands out
about BCS?
7th grade  The athletics is a lot better.
 I love the Christian environment.
 There are a lot of really nice caring kids & teachers. They really are challenging me and helping
me get up my grades.
 Well there’s not any drugs or alcohol. But there is cussing sometimes.
 That you get to use your phones and ipods at lunch.
 That we don’t have a gym.
 BCS has really good people and friends. The curriculum also challenges me more.
 One thing better than my last school is the people.
 At BCS I feel safer because it’s more private than public schools.
 It has a great environment with great students. It also gives us a great education.
 My old school had me doing little kid stuff and calling me bad names or blaming. At BCS I am
having more FUN.
 BCS stands out because of how different everyone is. I last attended a public school in 1st grade
and I didn’t like it, but I came to BCS and liked it because it is Christian.
 With bullying it is stopped and does not continue on.
8th grade  Generally all the students are nicer.
 There is more group effort in the classes and team activities.
 At my last school we had to uniforms and I personally think that it is great to have us wear
uniforms only on chapel days but no in weekends if students dress appropriately.
 The size of the classes.
 Better environment. Teachers actually care for their students. God fearing teachers, which
makes me feel safe compared to other schools.
 They have better teachers at BCS and it’s very religious.
9th grade  I think that the chapels are great and I especially like how much the teachers are willing to help
out when I don’t understand something.
 This school has more help for students.
 BCS has more challenging curriculum. Also it has more sports opportunities & nicer genuine
people.
 They provide a more friendly, and obviously, Christian environment than my previous public
school.
 There is more one on one time then at public schools and over all it’s just a better learning
experience.
 Everyone is close. I like the small feeling and we get out more than the public schools.
 We have hat days unlike public schools. We have Bible classes. We also have community
service projects.
 BCS academic standards far exceed that of other schools.
 Their education is much better than any other school I’ve been to.
 Not as crowded as all the others.
 One more van.
 The teachers are nice.
 We have a good Christian atmosphere that is welcoming. We have a good staff.
10th grade  The teachers take time to make sure you understand the material and sit down with you and teach
you until you understand.
 BCS teachers put time in to make sure you understand something and that you aren’t falling
behind. The teachers and students actually care about you.
 Everyone is really close to each other. Good one on one attention from teachers. More advanced
classes. Christian setting.
 Advanced scholastics, and Christian teachings.
 Christian education.
 Small class environment and a Christian perspective in classroom.
 All good people.
 No drugs in school.
 Teachers one on one with students more often, and goes more in depth.
 It is smaller and much tight knit like a family.
 The friendliness of the students.
 The teachers are amazing and help work with you.
11th grade  It has Bible class.
 The size.
 We are small.
 There aren’t as many people.
 Teachers are nicer.
 Good friends.
 I like being able to have a Bible class.
12th grade  Atmosphere
 I like that you can know everyone in the high school & mostly everyone is welcoming & friendly.
 Everyone is like a big family in BCS. We all know each other, help each other, and are about
each other. Not only students, but also teachers too.
 I was homeschooled so the social aspect is great.
 I enjoy the small class sizes and that I can interact with teachers in a more personal level. I have
been at this school my whole life.
 BCS has a better education.
 The education is better. When I came here from my old school I had trouble at first but now I
have a better education.
 BCS is a friendlier and safer environment that is centered in learning.
 The one on one opportunity with the teachers and their helping you a lot more.
 I think BCS has better relationship between the teachers and students.
2 – If you could change one thing about BCS, what would that be?
7th grade  I would change the money.
 I would not change anything.
 Bigger lockers!
 It would be nicer kids, sometimes, there’s really mean kids. But I really love this school!
 That there should be bigger lockers and we had recess.
 I would change the lockers because they are really small.
 I would change the music teacher.
 I wouldn’t change anything.

I would like some courses to be full year such as art and computer. Computer was 1st semester
and art this semester. I enjoy both. I would also like to take music through 12th grade and take
Spanish 4 years of high school rather than 2.
 That we could get art and computers for all 4 quarters.
8th grade  My test scores have gone down since I came here and at my old school we were allowed to listen
to music during tests.
 I would like to change the extracurricular activities. I believe there should be more than just
sports.
 I would change the 8th grade Bible and geography curriculum because my class and I would agree
that it is very confusing and slightly boring.

 I know the school has been working on it, but we need a gym!

9 grade  I wouldn’t change anything.
 I would change the locker sizes & have more arts opportunities such as drama.
 That we would have a gym.
 If we could have more community service projects & reaching out to differentn placew could
help our school at more in Christian perspective & socially.
 I would change the lunch room. Make it bigger and I would add a music/band program.
 Maybe a drama/debate class.
 Maybe after school activities like a book club or a board game day.
 I would like to see more professionalism from some teachers, and I would like to see a better
music/drama class.

 A nice change would be a good way to get our lunches faster & not after the second lunch bell.

 Have 3 tardies per class. Not every 3 tardies for any class. (That is how the public school system
works).
 Probably the rumors that spread like way fast and they are never true.
 The Bible classes. We need an actual Bible teacher who has studied not just the Bible but that
time period. Someone who has actually gone to school for more in that field.

11th grade  More class options (maybe some AP classes), better teachers (Mr. Williams, Mrs. Garcia, and
Mrs. Wylie are great teachers).

12th grade  GYM!!! Not having our own gym hurts the school. The school has to spend money renting other
facilities which takes money from other things. It also hampers the sports teams.
 GET A GYM!!! Finish the athletic field so there can be football & soccer games at the school.
 It would be having ore options for classes, so students can participate in classes they want to take.
 Getting a gym.
 I would want more variety of classes.

 Being able to have a gym or getting the football team into class C division to qualify for state.

3 –If you had to explain why you attend BCS to a friend, what would you
say?
7th grade  For athletics and education.
 I go to BCS because of the teachers, education & the environment.
 Because there are no bullies, gangs, or mean people. I like it because I get to learn all about God
and his wonderful creation.
 I would say for better education & no bullies.
 I would say you should come because you learn a bit better than other schools.
 I go to BCS because I don’t want to go to public school.
 I attend BCS because my parents pay for me to come.
 I attend BCS because it’s a Christian school & I like all the friendly people.
 I can get a Christian education in school and not just on Sundays.
 Public schools had bad environments and too much bullying. BCS has NO bullying and good,
Christian environment.
 EPICNESS
 I attend BCS to get a Christian education so I can be prepared to defend the gospel of Jesus
Christ.
 Because I can learn about God and not be unprepared for the world.
8th grade  The overall curriculum is better because we can learn the truth and the English and math is more
difficult so you learn more.
 I would say the environment is friendlier and getting a Christian education is important to me.
 I want to be in a Christian environment so that I can become closer to God and act more Christian
like!
 The teachers are awesome! I love the Christian views there. The classes aren’t that hard and we
get time to do our work. The hot lunches are awesome.
 Other schools didn’t connect with me . . . plus, the school work is a little bit hard (which I like) so
I can learn more.
 My parents made me.
9th grade  I came here because I wanted a change in my education and I really like it here. I have made new
friends and the teachers are good.
 I thought this school would be more help than any other school.
 It is a good Christian environment where teachers actually care about you and I get to play sports.
 The Christian aspect of it.

I’d advise him/her to this school one, because it values Christian aspect, two, you don’t have to
feel insecure, and 3, there is not near as many people here so it’s not as overwhelming.
 Because I wanted a Christian and better education.
 I like to spend time with Christian friends and hanging out with them.
 My parents require me to attend BCS, although I’ve begun to appreciate the academic excellence
more and more.

10th grade  BCS is a smaller school, which means you can get to know your classmates better and smaller
classes are much nicer.
 Both my parents and myself wanted me to attend school here. And since I’ve come I’ve really
enjoyed it.
 It’s a good atmosphere and we get to talk about God.

 People are kind. You can get Christian education.
 I like it and it’s better for my spiritual growth than public school.

11th grade  It has small classes where you get to know everyone on a person level.
 Everyone knows and talks to each other and for the most part is nice.
 I came here since I was 5 years old.
 So I don’t have to be around tons and tons of people at a public school.
 My parents made me.

12th grade  Atmosphere is completely different. Don’t have all the same pressures as a public school would.
Teachers and students are friendlier. The whole school is like a family.
 I have been attending BCS since Kindergarten and I enjoy how helpful, kind, & caring the
teachers are.
 BCS is like my second home. I can really see and feel God’s love in BCS as I attend BCS. I
never regretted attending BCS.
 Good environment & teachers who are here to help you.
 I wouldn’t do well in a large school. I enjoy the familiarity all the students have with each other.
 BCS is a good environment. It has a good education and really good teachers.
 I attend BCS because I get a Christian education. You don’t have to experience or hear bad
things that happen at public schools.
