Minutes from April meeting were unable to
be reviewed on line but have been reviewed
by FENA Board. Robin Powers motion to
approve minutes after any corrections or
additions then send to Secretary. Motion
second by Catherine O’Neil. Motion passed.
Motion to change agenda for
Parliamentarian to present before treasurer.
Motion by Paula Davis and second by Robin
Powers. Motion passed.
Dottie Hindman Parliamentarian presented
Chapter Difficulties Policy (approved last
meeting)
Reminder for FENA members to sign conflict
of interest and members to see Dottie
Fundraising activity presented by Rachelle as
fundraising donation opportunity. Winners
were Dottie Hindman and Patti Sadler.
$169.00 in donations received.
Motion made by Chris Ochinero to have
donation money go toward gifts bags for
delegates. Second by Terri Repasky. Motion
passed.
Treasurer report presented to FENA
membership by Elizabeth Bonner.
Federal Income taxes filed on time for 2014
taxes
16 chapters in Florida with 10 chapters
having FENA Treasurer as co-signer. Working
to obtain other chapters signatures and
resolve issues.

Call for nominations for election for
President Elect and Treasurer Elect:

meeting with election to follow
 National ENA election completed and on
ENA website for member to view
 Cathy Edmisten not present but website
updates discussed by Leona Stout-Demps.
Request by Penny Blake to add Government
Affairs section to FENA website to post
latest information. Leona will take back to
webmaster for consideration.
 Delegate information on website discussed
by Ellie Encapera. Info not on ENA website
yet but did discuss what would be
forthcoming.
 Dottie Hindman received 41 applications
and 35 slots were filled for General
Assembly delegates.
 Dottie has shirts at today’s meeting for
distribution. Wear aqua on day 1 and day 3
and black on day 2 for General Assembly.
Discussion about possibly change in shirts
for next year but need to be consideration
for next year’s budget. Motion made by
Darleen Williams to wear aqua-black-aqua
shirts for General Assembly with second by
Elizabeth Bonner. Motion passed.
 Delegate dinner contracted at Moonfish on
Monday September 28, 2015
 Delegate role and responsibilities reviewed
for those present with 2 hour minimum






volunteer time
Dottie presented final option for conference
pin and recommended purchasing 1000 pin
with each FENA delegate and ENA Board
members receiving a conference pin. Motion
made for delegates, volunteers, and ENA
Board to receive pins made by Rachelle
Zahniser and second by Terri Repasky.
Motion passed.
Motion made by Darleen Williams to
purchase 1500 pins to sell at $10 per pin
second by Terri Repasky. Motion passed.
Dottie will send out sign up sheet for
volunteer hours at Florida booth.
Grace Green and Bonnie McIntosh
presented items for delegate gift bags. Will
send information to have volunteers assist
stuffing bags.
Leona reviewed ENA conference volunteer
sign up sheet and will send instructions as
soon as website up as 2 hour requirement
for delegates
Charles Construction Group has donated an
Apple watch for FENA to use as fundraising
opportunity at FENA State Host booth at
ENA conference

Conference pin Update: Dottie contacted
pin vendor for 1500 pins and we can have
artwork to use for stickers on bags as he
cannot provide artwork. All in agreement
FCEP newsletter EMPulse has Terri Repasksy
as nursing editor. Discussed article
submissions. EMPulse is linked on FENA
website and 2 members already have
submissions.
Terri Repasky has articles in ENA Connection
about “A Day on the Hill” featuring Penny
Blake and others.
August edition of ENA Connection is
publishing letter from ORMC resident to
nurses and his heartfelt thanks.
Government Affairs – Penny Blake with
guest Alisa LaPolt, lobbyist. Alisa explained
her background and role and how she could
help FENA with Florida legislation issues.
Alisa discussed turbulent year in 2015
session. Many bills died in session due to
early dismissal. Advocacy and committee
meetings begin months before legislative
session begins.

Emergency Management – Jay Bronson is
now director SMART team. Participated in
Hurricon exercise with dynamic display and
explained triggers to activate SMART team.

SMART team
TNCC Chair – Robin Powers. See attached
report. ENPC report sent by Cindy Garlesky.
Only 61% course directors submitted reports
to state chair. By October meeting will have
criteria and guidelines for Florida state
faculty and course monitoring. Annual
conference will be conducting TNCC renewal
course and national wants volunteers to
bring equipment –contact Robin for
information. Indirect fees for course
increased July 1 from $68 to $75 per person.
Certification – Teresa Murphy. Hospitals can
get certification course reviews for $25 and
can get bundle price for applicants taking
exam
Communication – see above
Education- Ann Brown. “Friday Nights –
Lights Out” kits available from Danny Griffin
for train the trainer. Met with FCEP and
FENA will participate with nursing education
at Clincon. EMLRC has free education on
their website. Human Trafficking education
opportunity discussed with 2 hr version
future offering. Ellie discussed offerings
coming at September annual conference.

scholarship added for Clincon and one for
Symposium by the Sea. Two applicants for
scientific assembly scholarship and no
applications for TNCC or BCEN certification;
one application for academic scholarship
with all having September 30th deadline. See








January 23 / Daytona Beach

full report. Clarification- member can obtain
scholarship and award both In same year.
Request to add scholarship for GENE or
CATN – board will take under advisement
EMS Advisory – Patti Sadler. Discussed
CARES program for continuum of cardiac
care http://mycares.net is website for
information.
General Assembly/Nominating – see above
Government Affairs – see above
Injury Prevention-IQSIP- Cathy O’Neil.
Request one person from each chapter
identified as point of contact to Cathy to get
involved in injury prevention and keep her
updated. Trauma centers need to have
active program and information not shared.

Annual Conference – see above
Membership – Anne Blevins. 2047 members
in Florida as of June 30, 2015. Discussion on
how members assigned to chapters. See
report.
Patrick Hogan proposed having 4th
quarter/fall meeting during delegate dinner
for annual meeting. Discussion noted
meeting would not allow others to attend
and not favored at this time.
Budget for delegate reimbursement will be
up to $900 by reimbursement for each
delegate. Motion to accept $900 maximum
made by Cathy O’Neil and seconded by
Robin Powers. Motion passed.
Original date set October 30 but meeting
changed due to conflicts and to be held



