We are looking to appoint an experienced Fleet Engineer within our Transporting Somerset Team,
County Fleet. You will have significant experience in the inspection and maintenance of a broad range
of vehicles and specialist equipment. The role will involve travel throughout the County of Somerset for
which a vehicle is provided.
Reporting to The County Transport Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the effective
maintenance of the County Fleet and compliance with all statutory obligations. In addition you will
assist The Transport Manager with procurement processes and record keeping. You will deal on a daily
basis with contractors and clients to ensure Council services are provided with minimum disruption.
You will be a good communicator and need to demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction and training
to Drivers and other employees. You will need experience of IT systems, particularly Transport related,
and have good oral and written communication skills. A full driving licence is essential, preferably with
C & D entitlement. Driver CPC, CPC in Goods or PCV operations and membership of a relevant
Institute is desirable.

We are looking for an efficient and effective administrator to provide support for our Nursery.
This role involves ensuring all administration and finance for the Nursery is completed in a professional

communication and interpersonal skills and be able to plan their workload to meet deadlines.
Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable.

environmental health team to carry out the following tasks:

To carry out food hygiene inspections across both the Taunton Deane and West Somerset
areas.

To assist in all aspects of the environmental health service including environmental
protection, food hygiene, health and safety, water sampling and general complaint work.
•
To assist with sampling and monitoring programmes for food, private water supplies, air
quality and noise.
•
To deal with environmental health complaints and requests for service as required including
the investigation of infectious disease cases.
•
To assist the Environmental Health Manager in undertaking tasks identified in the team work
plan and group service plan.
You must have:- Experience in working with an Environmental Health team including food safety, health and
safety and environmental protection.
