A Message from the Coordinators:
Welcome to the first term of After School Activities Program at AIS Elementary School.
The ES ASA Program brings students and adults together for a series of nine (9) co-curricular
activities sessions that are wonderful learning experiences.
ASA Mission Statement
The Elementary School After School Activities Program brings students and adults together into
a meaningful and rewarding community through co-curricular activities. These activities provide
unique learning experiences as led by teaching professionals who are eager to spend time with
AIS students.
Because of the wide ranging interests and needs of our ES children, our activities will give our
students the opportunity to explore and develop new interests, as well as having the chance to
continue to develop their current interests and skills.

that your children will need to be picked from the school at 4:30. Also, please note that some

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
A registration letter will be sent home to you on September 14th. Return your
completed registration forms in to the Front Office (Elementary Office) on September 17th,
18th or 19th.
Please list a 1st and 2nd choice selection for your child in case their first choice is full. This will
greatly assist us in club placement.
It is important that you meet the “on time” deadline of September 19th. Registration forms
submitted after September 19th will be processed only for activities that have not reached the
maximum enrollment.
For many of our activities, the number of participants is limited. In order to be as fair as we can
to all our students who wish to participate in the After School Activities, the following
procedures have been established as outlined below.
If more students apply for an activity than there is room for, the procedure for selecting
students for the activity will be:
1) Upon the close of registration the ASA coordinators will go through the list of students
applying for each activity.
2) If the number of applicants exceeds the listed maximum enrollment for an activity, the
coordinator will then randomly draw names from the list.
3) If a child is not placed in their 1st choice he/she will be placed in their listed 2nd choice
activity for that day providing that the activity has not reached maximum enrollment. If the
replacement activity is also full, you will be contacted to make another choice.
4) If an Activity has not reached the minimum enrollment during the initial phases of
Registration, it will be cancelled. You will be contacted and your child will be offered the
opportunity to register for another Activity.
5) If you are not contacted, you may assume that your child has been placed in either his 1st or
2nd choice activity. No news is good news!
Despite our best efforts, the match between Activities and children may not always work out
like we hope. If your child needs to withdraw from an Activity, please contact the ES ASA
Coordinator directly. This must be done before the ASA schedule has started.

AIS PK and Elementary
Student Behavior Expectations and ASA rules
To ensure academic success and self-discipline, American International School expects all
students to be responsible for their learning and exercise appropriate behavior at school.
In order to maintain a school environment conducive to learning and for students to adopt
responsible behavioral values, they require well-defined and clearly established expectations
that are continually supported and demonstrated by the entire school faculty.
The AIS Elementary School’s behavior plan is based upon these core beliefs:
RESPECT YOURSELF
RESPECT OTHERS
RESPECT THE SCHOOL
RESPECT LEARNING
Students are expected to maintain all behavior expectations that are followed through the
normal school day and that are listed in the formal AIS Behavior Expectations Document.
Please contact the Front Office if you would like to review a copy of the full AIS Behavior
Expectations Document.
