 For each ‘mark’ you should spend approximately 1 minute. So don’t waste time on a lowweighted question – come back to it at the end when you know how much time you have
left.
 Write in blue or black pen.
 Dictionaries are not to be used.
 Read each question carefully!
 Ensure you put your name and class on each answer sheet.
 No questions will be answered by the supervising teacher.
If you come across a question that you do not understand:
 Read it carefully.
 Skip it and keep going, return to it at the end of the
exam.
 Read it again; try to decide what it is asking.
 Answer it to the best of your ability.
 If it’s a typo - make a note of what you think the question is asking and then answer
it.
 Bring a novel to read in case you finish the exam early – you will not be allowed to leave
the room.
