Class Grade – The following percentages will be used to calculate each 6 week grade:

I. Minor Work – This portion of the student’s grade will comprise of the following items:
A. Bell Work – Each student will be required to do bell work at the start of most
classes.
B. Interactive Journal – Each student will be required to take notes during most class
sessions. Note summaries will be checked during each exam.
C. Project Check Points – There will be at least two checkpoints for each project to
ensure that it is on track.
D. Independent Practice – Independent Practice will be assigned on most days.
All assignments are to be completed before the start of the next class session.
E. Quizzes – Quizzes are open note and based on the Independent Practices.
II. Major Work – This portion of the student’s grade will comprise of the following items:
A. Exams – Exams will be given at the end of each unit.
B. Re-Test Exam – Students may take a re-test exam during tutorials if they wish to
raise their grade.
C. Projects – Geometry opens itself up to many different projects. As time allows in
the schedule, we will work on these in class throughout the year.
Tutoring – Any student can request tutoring from Mr. Farmer. However, students who have
a failing cumulative grade at the end of any week will be required to attend tutorials.
Mr. Farmer’s tutorials are as follows:
Mornings 8:15am – 9:00am: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
3rd Period Lunches: TBD
Afternoons 4:20pm – 5:05pm: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Classroom Supplies –
- Each student will need pencils, highlighters, and a Geometry three ring binder.
- The items below will be needed in the classroom. Please bring them by the end of
the first week of classes.

Class Vision
On a consistent basis, each individual in the class is a valuable contributor to the
overall learning process. As such, everyone will give their best effort each day to bring
a positive attitude to the classroom and will respect themselves, their peers, and the
teacher. Individual positive attitudes in conjunction with the support of peers and the
teacher will lead to the success of each individual.
Class Rules
1) Be Responsible
- Students must come to class on time and prepared to learn
- Students should use class time wisely
- Students should ask for help when they need it
- Students should complete all work given to them on time
2) Be Safe
- Students will not engage in any activity or behavior that puts themselves or others
in harm’s way.
- Clean up after yourself.
- Follow the teacher’s directions.
3) Be Respectful
- Each student must stay seated until the daily work has been assigned to all
students unless permission is given by the teacher
- Student must treat others the way they themselves want to be treated
- Don’t abuse what isn’t yours
Consequences for Class Rule Infractions
1) A verbal warning will be given for the first violation of the classroom rules.
2) The student’s seating assignment will be changed.
3) The student will be held after class to discuss actions.
4) The student’s parents will be notified via a note or phone call.
5) A lunch or after school detention will be assigned.
6) A discipline referral will be written for the student and sent to the assistant principal.
Class Expectations
1) Students are to come to class with a writing instrument and their composition
notebook.
2) Students are to stay actively engaged in the learning process.
3) When given time to work on an assignment in class, students must work on the
assignment until it is completed.
4) Students are not to use cell phones unless permission is first requested of and
then given by the teacher.
5) Students are to use the classroom calculators as a tool, not a toy.
6) Students are to clean up after themselves.
7) Students are to make up all work missed due to an absence on their own time.
