SOHCAHTOA
SOHCAHTOA is an mnemonic commonly used in trigonometry to find a
missing side or angle in a right triangle. SOHCAHTOA can only be used
with RIGHT triangles, no others.
SOHCAHTOA stands for Sin Opp Hyp Cos Adj Hyp Tan Opp Adj

To find the SIN of a function, you take
the side opposite the given (or desired)
angle and divide it by the hypotenuse
(the side across from the box).

EXAMPLE
1) You are walking through a field and
see a ant hill with dozens of little ants
walking up it. You can measure that the
ant hill is 12 cm off the ground and it is
15 cm to the edge of the opening. How
far do the ants actually walk to get into
their ant hill?
