Cell Analogy Project (65 points)
Directions: Choose an analogy for an animal cell and draw or print pictures of
objects (or use actual objects) pertaining to that theme. You must be able to
show the similarity between the functions of each organelle to the objects in the
theme you choose. (Ex. A town, football field, Jungle, ocean, playground, school
building, house, etc.)
Requirements:
1. Your cell project/poster must contain pictures of all 10 of the actual cell
organelles. (Listed in the rubric below, 10 total). Pictures may be drawn or
printed and must be colored! (10 points)
2. Appropriate pictures of each analogy are included (10 points)
3. A description of each organelles analogy must also be included (30 points)
4. Correctly demonstrates theme (5 points)
5. Project is colored (5 points)
6. Presents poster to class (5 points)
Below is an example of one organelle’s analogy:
(Note: You must do this for all organelles in your project)
A toilet in a house acts like a lysosome because it gets rid of
unwanted wastes in the home like the lysosome gets rid of
cellular wastes
