Fall 2008
Purpose of Diagnostic Testing




To give students an opportunity to understand the
types of questions they will encounter during spring
graduation testing
To identify skills or knowledge where individual
students might need further instruction to be
successful on the test
Provide parents with information about how they can
help their child prepare for spring testing
To help Kennesaw Mountain identify and plan for
students who might need extra academic support in
English/Language Arts or Math prior to spring testing

More About Our Plan
Using the data from our Diagnostic Test:
 A GHSGT Math prep course will be offered second
semester for students in need.
 All students with a 75% or less on the ELA or Math
sections will be given the Diagnostic exam again in
January.
 Students who score 72% or less on the 2nd Diagnostic
exam will be expected to attend specialized tutorial
sessions from February to March.
 The specialized tutorial sessions will focus on specific
student weaknesses identified by the Diagnostic
