Member Newsletter Volume 23 January 2015 Happy New Year! We are thankful to have such great CAP Members and are excited to have the opportunity to work with all of you throughout the coming year. As we begin 2015, we are pleased to welcome new CAP Team Members to assist you in the placement of your business. Are you discussing the need for Cyber Liability Insurance with your clients? With the expansion of e-commerce, online data storage, and the utilization of smart phones, tablets and laptops in businesses of all types and sizes, the risks associated with data security have (and Are your clients adequately covered for these risks? are) growing quickly. Submissions and Quotes As a reminder, in order to provide you with accurate quotes that meet the needs of your clients, we need complete and thorough applications to be submitted within the CAPNet Connect Portal. The quotes that are presented back to you are based on the information that you have provided to CAP. CAP does not attempt to match coverages from previous policies, previous quotes, or previous applications. As you are the representative of the Insured, it is incumbent upon you to review the terms of any quotation provided by CAP carefully with your Insured, and reconcile any differences from the terms requested in the original submission, the quote provided, or the policy issued. IMPORTANT TIPS TO ENHANCE YOUR CAP MEMBERSHIP EXPERIENCE: 1. When completing a new submission, please remember that the "Effective Date" is the date in which you would like the policy to be bound, NOT the date of the submission. CAP does business with carriers that require ten (10) days lead time from the proposed "Effective Date" in order to provide a quotation. CAP uses the proposed "Effective Date" to determine which carriers are available based on this date window. If the proposed "Effective Date" doesn’t provide adequate lead time, certain carriers may not be approached, so it is very important that the proposed "Effective Date" be accurate. As always, complete submissions with accurate information and timely effective dates will maximize efficiency. 2. When requesting a Certificate, Members must use the required Verification forms (see image below for location). To avoid delays in the process, please communicate detailed information with your CAP Team Member about the Certificate to include the EXACT wording required by your client. Your CAP Team Member is NOT able to examine/review contracts to extract information in order to generate Certificates. It is the Members responsibility to ensure that the information included in the Verification Request contains the language needed to address the insureds situation. 3. Please look at your e-mail settings to verify that all communications from CAP are delivered to your inbox and not categorized as SPAM or JUNK. This has been an issue for a few of our Members using 'free' e-mail accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo!, or Hotmail. 4. As a reminder, the CAPNet Connect Portal is fully supported with Internet Explorer only. If you are using IE11, please follow the steps below to ensure full functionality. 5. In rare instances, a pop-up blocker on your computer may prevent the CAPNet Connect Portal from opening in a new browser window. If that occurs, hold down CTRL as you login to the Portal, as that will override any pop-up blocker. As a reminder to our Members, the CAPNet Connect Portal must be accessed through Internet Explorer (not Firefox, Google Chrome, or other browsers). IE11 - CAPNet CONNECT PORTAL: If you are using IE11, you will need to add "nexsure.com" domain to the compatibility view settings in order to ensure full functionality within the CAPNet Connect Portal. To do this in IE11, click the gear icon or press ALT+X on the keyboard to open the Tools menu, and then select "Compatibility View Settings" from the menu. This will open a popup window similar to the one on the left. Type "nexsure.com" website" text in the box "Add and this click "Add". Then click the "Close" button, shut down your browser and reopen the website. This procedure only needs to be done once. Commission Statements Reminder: In an effort to make business easier for you, we are now attaching commission statements to the CAPNet Connect Portal. Commission statements will be available to view up to two days prior to the mailing of checks. Commission checks will continue to be mailed on the 15th and the last day of every month. The commission statements can be found within the "Documents" tab underneath the "My Agency" section of the CAPNet Connect Portal. WE'VE EXPANDED!
