
Many countries made more effort to develop the railway
transportation under the slogan of Railway Renaissance.

574.8km/h : New record of Max. speed in TGV(Train a
Grande Vitesse : French High Speed Train) on 10th June
2007

The study of safe TCS according to speed up was
necessary

And also, Application of IT(Information Technology) and
Radio communication

In this conference, I introduce the plan on RBTC
technology development unrelated to speed and operational
environment.


Not consider interoperability between countries like ETCS

Not necessary the development stage of ETCS L1, L2, L3

Apply the well-developed radio system in Korea

Set up the speed used in current railway as a stage specific
goal -> 150km/h, 230km/h, and 400km/h

Accomplish Speed improvement from R&D

Realize in the way to complement the lack of technology
required in each CBTC and ETCS

9. Conclusion
16

For the technology development of RBTC for HSL in Korea,
as shown in the previous page, we select the core
technology required to establish the systems as a priority

and then we set up the speed suitable for each operation
environment(150km/h, 230km/h, 400km/h)

In this way, it is expected that it will be desirable to push
forward step-by-step speed improvement and the
commercialization in parallel.

In terms of not only radio utilization in TCS but also the
compatibility with all the fields of railways and operation
environment, it is expected that the application of radio
communication shall ensure the availability of railway
transportation with more easiness.
