Cube Water Displacement Lab
Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to see if a heavier cube will influences the amount of water displaced
compared to a lighter cube.

Electronic balance
250 mL Graduated cylinder

Find the mass of each cube in the table.
Fill the graduated cylinder about half way-full.
Record the volume of water in the table.
Slowly, drop the cube down the wall of the graduated cylinder.
Record the volume of water and cube.
Calculate the volume of the cube.
When finished recording data, clean your work station, you may return to the classroom to work with
your group to complete the back of the worksheet.
