The Internship Plan is a brief, but specific, document indicating your overall approach to the
Internship Program. Within this document, you will briefly identify the areas of activities you will
approach and indicate which of the ten TExES Superintendent Competencies and Quality
Indicators are used with each. You will also provide a brief description of the activities, your
resource person to be used and estimated completion date for the entire plan. As always, this is
a living document and subject to update and change.
District action research plan – Students may wish to add an action research plan to their
Superintendent Intern Plan. You may use the two Action Research templates (School or
Professional Improvement – SIP/PIP) Template or the Tool 7.1 Action Plan Template or you
may wish to review and use goals and outcomes from your District Improvement Plan as part of
your Intern Plan.
Course Embedded Logs
Throughout the Superintendent Certification program students will be asked to complete Course
and District Supervised Logs/Journals that describe field based leadership activities from the
course or from the intern/practicum plan and additional leadership activities and experiences
implemented with district and campus leaders.
During EDLD 5396 students will have an opportunity to complete and reflect on 3 courseembedded log/journal activities:

Vita Development

Plan and Conducting District Leader Interview
Page 5 of 6
EDLD 5396 Internship/Practicum in Administration


These three activities will provide students with at least 18 hours of course embedded
leadership experiences for EDLD 5396.
