Nominate Candidates: Political parties are responsible for selecting
candidates who will run for political office, support the party and spread

Influence Policy: Senate and House of Representative work together to
create and pass laws. People in parties want government policies to reflect
their own party platform.
Unite Government: People are in the same political parties and are
connected with people of the same organization. They link members at
different levels of government to accomplish big goals of the party.
Create Balance: Most powerful political party is the majority; focus the
government’s attention to the party’s platform; minority works hard to
oppose the majority party to keep it in check. Opposing party will protect
interest of it’s party supporters.
