Key Middleware Support Services
• EITI Common IT Support Services: Provides cross-cutting
information technology support services, including:
– Standard middleware products and technologies that enable FSA
application teams to share computing resources, shorten development
time, reduce complexity, and reduce cost and time to market
– Support of core infrastructure and architecture activities, including
technical leadership of COTS product upgrades, and architecture
support for OS and database patches, 90 day password changes,
infrastructure capacity planning, security scans, non-production and
production incidents, and daily maintenance activities
– Product experts to support the troubleshooting of complex application
or architecture issues, lead product upgrade and migrations, and assist
application teams in architecture review and application design

Four Key Service Areas
• Integrated Technical Architecture (ITA)
– A common, enterprise-wide technical architecture that provides standard
products and technologies such as web servers, application servers, search
engines, data/information management, and content management tools
• Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
– Service virtualization & orchestration that includes communication between
systems, transformation, routing, and supports shared services
• Access and Identity Management System (AIMS)
– A framework for access control, provisioning, delegated administration, and
simplified sign-on. Includes identity and access management tools, enterprise
policy repositories, enterprise user repositories, privacy policy and more
• Enterprise Business Collaboration (EBC)
– Employee Enterprise Business Collaboration (EEBC) and Partner Enterprise
Business Collaboration (PEBC) products, environments, & application support
