LARGEST EVER SHOW PRIZE FOR WELLINGTON HOME & GARDEN SHOW TIPPED TO DRAW
CROWDS
Jade Promotions is excited to be able offer visitors to its 2012 Wellington Home & Garden Show, the
chance to win its largest show prize ever. The show provider is delighted to be working with
Newstalk ZB, which is bringing show visitors its Big Spender Competition, where one lucky person
will walk away with a home package prize worth an astounding $30,000.
Daniel Joll, Jade Promotions Director, says, “It’s a spectacular package - and all visitors have to do to
enter, is type their name into one of our computer terminals when they arrive! The winner will be
drawn on the last day of the show, Sunday 23rd, and announced on Newstalk ZB the following day.”
“We think that three days of massive show-only specials, plus the line-up of over 200 hand-picked
exhibitors will also be a real draw card for visitors looking for ideas and bargains. A limited edition
Ferrari 430 Scuderia will be on display too for car enthusiasts. The model is one of only four in New
Zealand and has a top speed of 319kph”, Mr. Joll said.
“Home and garden shows are growing in popularity as the economic downturn has seen people seek
sanctuary in their home surroundings and lower mortgage rates have given them the confidence to
build or renovate. The show also coincides perfectly with the spring weather, which tends to spur
homeowners into action on outdoor projects too”, said Mr. Joll.
Further show attractions include free daily seminars from industry experts, who will provide
information and inspiration to show-goers on topics ranging from the latest kitchen and bathroom
innovations to paint choices and landscape/garden design.
Another show highlight promises to be the Newstalk ZB Interior Design Competition in association
with Resene & Kardean. The theme is “Home is Where the Heart is”, with five interior design
exhibitors vying for top honours. The judges, Tony De Goldi and Kristy Ballard from WelTec Interior
Design, will be looking for colour, artistic merit and theme application.
Show exhibitor, Kitchen Elements, is out to make a statement with a striking black and white kitchen
at its stall, complete with laser-designed Perspex drawers. The trend-setting drawers are proof that
that glamour and practicality can combine, and it is the first time they have ever been showcased!
The Kitchen Studio Wellington stall will be specifically catering to the local market. Franchise owner,
John Wilson, explains, “We will feature a traditional kitchen designed to suit the older homes often
found in Wellington. It will include a stunning granite bench-top and a vibrant green splashback. We
will also be displaying a Bosch 900-mm-wide induction hob with boil-over sensors, along with softclose drawers and doors. “
Astra Homewares Ltd will be showcasing its premium Bessemer cookware range, made from solid
cast aluminium for even heating and better heat retention. These products can go straight from the
stove top into an oven up to 200° C. Lids are precision-tooled for exact fit, handles are easy-grip and
the interiors have high-performance, non-stick coatings. The stall will feature the cookware’s original
classic range and the new country kitchen range.
For show-goers seeking flooring options, there will be a huge line-up of flooring exhibitors. Flooring
Central will be showcasing its three designer-look cork ranges, which come in stunning colours and
textures, some of which imitate stone. Despite its makeover, the floor covering has maintained all
the traditional qualities that have always made it so popular – durability, texture, warmth and noise
reduction. It is also hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly. Cork from Flooring Central is also
factory-coated with multiple layers of polyurethane to eliminate the need for owners to sand and
polyurethane at home.
Carpet Mill customers enjoy low prices because they are buying direct from a manufacturer, but
visitors to their show stand can expect free carpet laying on some of their range.
Visitors to The Carpet Court and the Floor Store stand can view their new French-inspired vinyl
flooring, which comes in contemporary colours and designs. The revolutionary Texline range is
textile-backed, so homeowners can expect the warmth, comfort and quiet of carpet; while enjoying
the practical, hardwearing benefits of vinyl. Also on display will be their new SmartStrand Silk range,
a combination of unprecedented silkiness and luxury. Enter the draw here to win $5,000 worth of
the original SmartStrand ‘rhino’ carpet.
The team at Mico Victoria Street Bathrooms is planning a kiwiana stall theme, showcasing brands
that will help Kiwi families refurbish their bathrooms with quality products at affordable prices.
Ikon Commercial will be giving visitors a sneak peak at its new 2013 collection, which includes
another 15 kitchen sink styles, and encompasses everything from twin-fan forced ovens to in-built
coffee machines – most of which will be at bargain homeshow prices.
For those planning to revamp outdoor areas, there will be an impressive range of garden design
experts and stalls exhibiting garden products. Landscape Plus for instance, plans to create a
Mediterranean-style summer area. Director, Rod Quayle, says “We will be showcasing an outdoor
fireplace/barbeque set into a garden and deck, with themed planters to complete the look.”
