Biography Report
Due March 21, 2014
Person:______________________________
Directions:
Choose one person you admire for your biography report. See the attached
paper for suggestions. You may choose a person not on the attached list if you
wish with permission from Mrs. Braun or Mrs. Tracy.
Use the Biography Book Report GRAPHIC ORGANIZER to assist you in
creating a nicely written, attractive report. There should be a picture of your
person included in your report, and a list of references that were used to research
your person. All works should be spelled correctly and written neatly. This means
that a rough draft should be written first. You will edit it first, and then ask an
adult to edit your report. When the editing is completed, you will then be ready to
write your final report.
MUST BE INCLUDED IN YOUR REPORT:
 The person's name
 The persons date of birth and death if no longer living
 A summary of major events in their life
 The hardships they overcame
 What are they famous for
 Why did you choose this person
 A picture of this person
 References
The last page of your report you will list all of the references you used. You must
have at least two, they can be books, encyclopedias, or online information. For
each reference list:
1. The title of the book or article
2. The author's name
Be prepared to give an oral report to the class about your person. You may
read the report if you wish. Practice at home so you speak clearly and with
confidence.

For extra credit you may dress up at the person or use some appropriate
props. You may also design a poster to go along with your report. We'll be happy
to provide the construction paper.
