Physical Geography of East and Southeast Asia
Web page design project
To begin:
1) Study pages 686 and 687. Read the “Big Ideas” closely. Your project will be about
one of those big ideas.
2) In your notebook, copy the main ideas from chapter 25 (pages 689, 690, 692 and
pages 695 and 696).
3) Part of your assignment will be to read and take notes on the chapter. Your notes
from section 1 are due on Friday March 8 (A Day) and Monday March 11 (B Day).
Your notes from section 2 are due on Tuesday March 12 (A Day) and Wednesday
March 13 (B Day).
In Class
1) You will be working in weebly.com or powerpoint. (If you use powerpoint you must know how
to use your digital locker in gaggle. Remember there are no more pen drives allowed at school).
For weebly.com the login information for the site is Mr. P’s email
(tim.proskauer@am.dodea.edu) and the password is: geography.
2) You will be assigned one of the following topics. Each topic has research questions that you
must explore. You need to turn in notes on what you find. Notes should be on loose-leaf so that
I can evaluate them. They need to be in Cornell format. They need to be in your own words.
3) Your research will then be presented on a web page (or short powerpoint) that you will design
using weebly. The web page should meet the following rubric guidelines:
Required Characteristics
CONTENT
Research information is clearly written and in your own
words. Nothing is copied from another source. Spelling and
grammar have been checked for accuracy.
IMAGES
Images are included (photos, maps, charts, graphs) that
illustrate your information. Images have captions that show
your understanding of the information.
FORMATTING
Web page is formatted so it is easy for the viewer to read.
You use titles to organize your information. The font sizes
are appropriate size (large titles and medium-sized text). The
amount of text on each section is appropriate (no more than
2 or 3 paragraphs of text per section)
TIME MANAGEMENT / COLLABORATION
You manage your time well and show positive collaboration
skills.
