“HOW TO BE BLESSED”
(Living Victoriously Through God’s Word)
What is a blessing? Sometimes we get blessings mixed up with other things, like presents. You can go
to a store and buy a present, but you can’t go to a store and buy a blessing from God. God gives you a
talent when you are born. Sometimes you are born with an innate ability for athleticism or for music.
But a blessing is even more than that. A blessing comes from the sovereign God who gives
undeservedly to whom He wants, whenever He wants, however He wants. This lesson is a biblical
guide to being blessed according to God’s Word.
Blessed Through Harkening to His Voice
Deuteronomy 28:1-14 (KJV)
I. The Promise of a blessing
1. Hearing means doing. Hearkening to His voice means keeping His commandments. James 1:22
II. The Old Testament Lesson
1. Deuteronomy is called the 2nd Law and was written by Moses.
2. Deuteronomy is the last book in the Pentateuch (1st five books of the Bible)
3. Deuteronomy is a farewell speech of Moses to the people of Israel just before
III. God Can Bless Anywhere
1. He will bless your coming in and your going out.
2. He will bless you so you won’t be the tail, you will always be the head.
3. We do not have to be in a certain place to be blessed
IV. God Will Bless Our Efforts
1. God will bless whatever we produce v.4
“Ministering To The Total Man”
V. God Will Bless Our Travel
1. Wherever your feet shall trod
VI. God Will Bless Our Coming and Going
1. Trust God knowing that when we leave home everything will be alright.
2. Don’t have to worry about Jody snooping around your house
VII. God Will Bless Us by kicking the Devil’s Tail
1. In v.7, the Lord will take care of our enemies
VIII. Reading The Fine Print
When we read a contract, we should read it and look for “buts” and “ifs.” God also has some “ifs”
so we need to read the fine print.
1. Needs vs. Wants Philippians 4:19
2. Blessings that Follow Us
3. Blessings God Puts in Front of Us
IX. Summary
Not only do we have blessings behind us, but some blessings are going to run in front of us. This
means that everywhere we go we will be bumping into blessings.
