Description:
The Production Operator is responsible for tasks involving physical labour in a manufacturing
plant, and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. The Production
Operator will be responsible for the efficient production of products according to established
procedures following all safety protocols and workplace policies to ensure profitable business
operations.
Responsibilities:
 Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
 Assemble circuits requiring fine hand assembly.
 Install, mount, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, wiring and harnesses to
subassemblies and assemblies using hand and power tools and other aids like overhead
hoists.
 Inspect electronic components and assemblies to ensure adherence to specified
requirements.
 Solder and manually assemble prescribed components.
 Bolt, screw, clip, weld or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand
and power tools and equipment.
 Operate automatic and semi-semi-automatic machines to position, solder and clean
prescribed components.
 Check final assembly for finish, labelling and packaging methods.
 Check mechanical dimensions and perform go-no-go electrical tests.
 Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies.
 Perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components, parts, and
systems.
 Setup and operate automatic testing equipment to locate circuit and wiring faults, shorts
and components defects.
 Maintain test result reports.
 Collect, record and summarize inspection results.
 Pack items for shipping and distribution.
 Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the
appropriate locations.
 Complete manual assembly, cleaning, testing, inspection work as per work instructions.
 Prepare and sort material as per work instruction, load/unload material onto machine or
manual work stations.

Connect cables, tubes and wires to complete assemblies and installations.
Operate and tend automated assembling equipment such as robotic and fixed
automation equipment.
Conduct cosmetic, functional inspection as per work instruction, Mark, record and report
defects.
Test electrical assemblies, equipment and wiring for proper performance using testing
devices such as meters, analyzers and timing lights.
Clean and perform preparation of work-site, work station and machines.
Work with equipment operators to facilitate machine alignment, movement, and
adjustment of machinery equipment, and materials.
Conduct machine maintenance such as Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery,
equipment, and tools as per instruction.
Operate, read and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in
confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.
Completion of other duties and projects as assigned.
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and
in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct.
Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
 High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, post-secondary diploma in a related field
preferred.
 2+ years of experience as a General Labourer in a manufacturing environment along
with experience in electronics, wiring and soldering.
 Knowledge of Workplace Safety, First Aid and CPR preferred.
 Able to perform repetitive tasks and keeping the work area and equipment clean.
 Able to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous
physical labour
 Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
 Direct working knowledge of manufacturing environment
 Quality and mathematical orientation skills
 Able to adapt well and be accountable
 Planning and organizing, and decision making skills
