For the Month of December: 150 Appreciation Christmas Cookie bags. Cookie can be
different variety flavors each bag containing 5 cookies. Cookie bags must be ready by
December 1st to drop off at clinic (9am-4pm) .
Aldine Family Hope Center

Non-perishable food items for our Food Pantry such as, canned vegetables, canned
meat, canned fruit, soups, cereal, box meals and baby food. Our pantry is very low-Need

Thanksgiving Dinner Needs:
o Cornerstone is doing a Mexican style Thanksgiving Dinner on the three program
nights (11/18, 11/19, and 11/20)

 Generation One
 2 automatic gate openers – Gen 1 has 2 gates that we currently have to open by hand
daily. These would greatly increase traffic flow in the morning. One gate is currently very
hard to push open and creates a traffic jam in the morning for parents dropping off kids at
school. Both gates are approx. 30’ in length - chain link fences that roll back and forth.

or at least 1/2 of it that we can use to advertise for our ministry.

Generation One
 Generation One just received its 501(c)(3) for a Community Development Corporation
(CDC). We are looking for someone to talk to about the beginning stages of setting up
affordable housing for the residents of the 3rd Ward of Houston. We would like to start
with the parents of the students currently enrolled in our Academy. Any professional
expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Gracewood
 Need 4-6 people to give their marketing expertise to help Gracewood create an effective
marketing plan for their brand new counseling program. The group would meet once a
month in October and November. Strategy meetings would last 1one hour. The group
would meet at a central location that best accommodates the group’s schedule. Most
preferred days are Thursday or Friday.
 Need someone to help with mosquito problem at our Wanda Lane campus. There is a
stagnant pond on the property that serves as a breeding ground for mosquitos.
Volunteer needed to assess the situation and give recommendations on how to solve this
problem so that client moms and kids can spend more time outdoors.

someone with video expertise to help.
Human Resources - we are nearing the time when we will start hiring employees for the
first time and we would love some guidance on how to get started.
The Source for Women


The Source Spring Branch is looking for a bilingual Office Administrator who has the gift
of extreme organization and detail, is Spirit filled and has a heart for God's daughters that
come to The Source in their time of need. The office administrator must have a consistent
countenance, and must always be aware that they will be the first impression to our
clients. Ideally this person is also able to pray as a Spiritual Mentor as needed. Keyboard
Typing and Computer Ease are a must.
Medical Missions: Adopt-a-Shift; Commit to covering a shift at The Source Galleria,
Northeast or Spring Branch. Fully staff medical professionals, program counselors and
spiritual mentors from within or referred by members of their congregation. Source will
provide Manager on Duty, Supervision and Easy Supervisory Training. Adopt A Shift
brings a willing group on the Local Missions Field, great for a class
or small group to do as a team 1x per month or 2 x per month.
Volunteer Needs

Aldine FHC
 4 Resale Shop Volunteers (Female or Male Age 25 & Up) must be able to lift 25 pounds,
climb, bend, pull and sit or stand for long periods of time
 Volunteers are needed shop to help sort, hang, organize and stock clothing and
household items. We are asking volunteers to consistently volunteer 2-4 hours per week
between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00pm, Mon-Fri. Volunteers will need to complete our
Volunteer Registration Form online at: buckner.org and contact Mary Chong (resale shop
manager) to schedule an appointment (281)449-4835 or our main office (281)449-4828.
Agape Development
 Teen Mentors - Boys and Girls - Middle School and High School - We are looking for
mentors who can commit to one year of mentoring a teen who participates in our
program. Mentors would start by going to the small group meetings or the weekly large
teen meetings. Once they feel they have a connection with a teen, they would come to a
mentor training (held once a month) and begin their mentorship with the student, which
would be a commitment of spending at least 1 hour a week outside of program time with
their mentee or 2 hours every other week in addition to attending a weekly program. Total
commitment is two hours a week.
Gracewood
 Three children in one family (ages: 15, 10, 8) have a keyboard and would like someone
to give them piano lessons. Lessons could be arranged after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays or
anytime on weekends.
The Nehemiah Center

Bus Driver (with CDL License) to drive Middle School Students on Field trips, Fridays,
between 2:00-4:00pm.
 Music Teacher for the Nehemiah Middle School. Teaching music one hour, preferably
one day per week.
 Tutors-one day a week (or more) tutoring an elementary or Middle School student,
focusing on improving math or reading skills. (We promise that you as a volunteer can
easily handle multiplication tables, flash cards, and reading with the student.) We need
volunteers throughout the day. Some volunteers come in during the day (according to
their availability) to volunteer with Nehemiah Middle School and the Pre-K program. Both
run from 8am-3:30pm. The after-school volunteers generally come in from 4:30-6pm).

Volunteers Needed for Annual Veterans Thanksgiving Dinner from 8:00 a.m. to noon on
Thanksgiving Day. Details will be sent by email along with assignments.
Volunteers Needed to Prep for Annual Thanksgiving Dinner (Tuesday or Wednesday
before Thanksgiving).
Generation One
 Project Team Leaders. Ongoing need. These individuals would use their leadership skills
to lead a short term team in their designated work projects. Work projects range from
painting a house to clearing a vacant lot. No specific skills are required, while it is
beneficial to have a basic in knowledge in painting and using lawn equipment. Most work
projects take place on Saturdays. (4 – 6 Team Leaders are needed)
 Mentors and Tutors are needed for the children in the Academy. Gen 1 is trying to match
up every child with a good positive role model.
Mission Centers of Houston
 One volunteer needed to power wash the exterior of our Admin building. We have a
power-washer and the work can be done at the volunteer's convenience.
 Photographer to take pictures at our volunteer banquet at Second Baptist Church on
Thursday night, Oct. 30 so we have images of the night but also "head shots" to use for
volunteer spotlight publicity throughout the year.
The Mission of Yahweh
 Volunteers to help in our newly remodeled Thrift Store 1-2 days a week for 3-4 hours a
day. All positions needed from Cashier, Stock room, Intake Sorters, In-kind donations.
Requirements: some retail experience and customer service orientation.
 Volunteers to help with Child Care for children ages 2-13 Evenings and Weekend Events/
1-2 hours once a week, month or one-time events. Great project for Girl Scouts and
youth groups that are 14 years and older.
 Volunteers needed to mentor our women residents for a minimum of 1 hour per week for
a 6 week commitment.
Cornerstone Family Ministries
 Thanksgiving Dinner Needs:
o Need 40 people each night to serve dinner (Tuesday 11/18, Wednesday 11/19,
and Thursday 11/20)

o Volunteers will be serving at risk and low income families

Graduation Igniters: Many of our graduates have burned bridges with their loved ones
and, as a result, often do not have anyone in their lives to celebrate their achievements
with them. Graduation Igniters are needed to provide audience support and celebratory
encouragement to commencing graduates. These volunteers will not only attend the
Graduation but also assist with set up and tear down before and after the event. The
opportunities are 2:30pm to 4:00pm on Friday afternoons.

Mock Interviewers: One of the most important things we teach in our workshop is how to
answer difficult interview questions. Mock Interviewers help reinforce these skills by
conducting practice interviews with students of our program. By asking interview
questions and providing feedback at the end of each interview, these interviewers help
instill hope, confidence, and trust. The opportunities are 12:30pm to 4:00pm on Thursday
afternoons.

The Source for Women

Wondering what to do to honor Sanctity of Human Life Sunday; The Source asks your
church, bible study or small group to commit toraising awareness of the state of
Houston's wall for Life in the church during Sanctity of Human Life Months, January and
February annually. The Source needs a contact for your small group, bible
study, or church liaison that would love this as an opportunity for Sanctity of Life
Awareness surrounding Sanctity of Life Sunday and the Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade
each year in January.

As we have clients Commissioned for Life The Source would love an Ambassador from
your church to welcome in a healed and growing client as she steps in to Fellowship and
Worship on her own. Ambassador will work with The Source to welcome Commissioned
for Life clients in to their church each week as client gets acclimated. Ambassador will
also keep The Source aware of groups within the church that can serve our ever growing
population of Women in Need, with groups like Celebrate Recovery, etc.
