The WHMIS Information system has 3 components:
1. Labels - Placed on hazardous Materials
2. MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheet Provide detailed information on hazardous
materials.
3. Education - Courses to teach people about labels and MSDS

HHPS - Hazardous Household Product Symbols
Any controlled product that requires special storage and handling because they
are dangerous to human health and/or the environment. (household products nail polish, antifreeze, glass cleaner and laundry bleach)
Safety symbols consist of a hazard symbol inside a frame. The four most
common safety symbols are: poison, flammable, explosive, and corrosive.
* An octagon stands for danger and will be the color red.
** A diamond stands for warning and will be the color orange.
*** A triangle (with tip down) stands for caution and will be yellow.
