There are varying opinions among individual faculty and students as to the
primary objective of attending college and obtaining a degree in regards to
the continuum between becoming more employable versus developing a
meaningful philosophy of life.
Also, there are legitimate differences of opinion regarding the degree to
which faculty members can or should play an active role in linking the
education they provide to individual student career aspirations.
