To effectively administer the City of Salisbury network,
telecommunications and server infrastructure to ensure
reliability, security and availability are maintained at an
optimal level.

To effectively administer the City of Salisbury Active
Directory.

To provide expert technical information to the Technical
Support Coordinator and other staff members as required.

Perform a backup role for other staff as required.

Maintain the integrity, reliability and security of the
network and telecommunication infrastructure.

Identify, analyse and solve technical problems with the
infrastructure as reported by users or other IT Team
members and take appropriate corrective action.

Provide technical advice and support to other IT officers.

Document and report all system errors, where applicable,
and liaise with the relevant suppliers to ensure that the
problem is resolved to the satisfaction of the users
affected.

Provide expert technical advice to the Technical Support
Coordinator and Manager Information Services when
required.

Provide a high level of technical support to computer
users relating to network and telecommunication issues
within the organisation.

Assist in the implementation of the ICT Strategic Plan.

Provide out-of-hours support as required.

Maintain logs and other records as required.

Observe and comply with all health and safety policies
and procedures within the City of Salisbury including all
safe operating procedures or instructions.

Take all reasonable steps to ensure personal safety and
that of others is not put at risk through any act or
omission in relation the above.

Report any identified hazards, incidents including near
misses or injuries which arise in the course of work, using
the systems and/or documentation available for such
reporting.

Fulfil individual requirements to meet any documented
WHS objectives arising from biannual performance and
development reviews.

Not endanger personal safety or that of others by
undertaking work whilst under the influence of alcohol or
a drug in breach of Council’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Undertake WHS training where required, in order to
perform duties (refer to WHS Competency Assessment).

To comply with the City of Salisbury Code of Conduct and
all other policies and procedures adopted by the City of
Salisbury as varied from time to time.

To manage all Corporate Records in accordance with
required procedures.

Responsible for purchasing goods and services in
accordance with purchasing guidelines and delegated
financial limits.


Current unrestricted drivers license

A minimum 5 years’ experience in maintaining a mediumsized networked computing environment Microsoft
Certified Network Administrator (MCSA Server
2008/2102)Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP
Routing and Switching or Voice)

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server
operating systems.

Advanced knowledge of Information Technology hardware
platforms

Advanced knowledge of telecommunication protocols,
network architectures and network hardware.

Advanced knowledge of network security requirements
and practices.

Good knowledge of Microsoft database systems

Experience operating and maintaining EMC storage
equipment

Experience with the Cisco, Microsoft and EMC support
processes.
