Prokaryote/Eukaryote Bubbl
Objectives:
Standard Addressed:

Given the bubbl that the students
made, they will be able to
accurately answer at least 7 out of
10 questions on the related quiz.



Procedures:

Graphic Organizer How to handout

2.2 Compare and contrast, at the
cellular level, the general structures
and degrees of complexity of
prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
Materials:
Activator Brief review of Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells (Ask the class which cells have/do
which? (Mitosis/Meiosis, Binary Fission, Multi/Unicellular, Organelles, origins, etc)
 Intro to graphic organizers (What is a graphic organizer? Graphic organizer
handout passed out here. Why are these helpful? Breaking down the information
allows for easy comparison and good visual reinforcement of the material
covered.)
Activities Show students how to make a Bubbl on Bubbl.com
 Have them make a bubbl to show the differences in these types of cells
Summarizer Group discussion on what things they should have touched on
1. Uni vs Mulitcellular, Reproductive methods (Binary Fission in Prokaryotes,
Mitosis/Meiosis in Eukaryotes), Cell structure (i.e. plasma membranes
present in both, organelles only present in Eukaryotes [excluding
ribosomes])
 Let them know that they can use their completed bubbl on the quiz
Homework:

Assessment:
Finish bubbl on Prokaryotes and
Eukaryotes



Grade on the Bubbl

Quiz Questions:
1. Which of the two types of
organisms that we
discussed is almost always
unicellular?
2. True or False: Eukaryotes
have more organelles
present then Prokaryotes.
