We are looking for a commercial and procurement professional within the Business portfolio area.

We are looking for a Service Manager with a strong commitment who will support 3 Strategic Managers
within the Commercial and Procurement Team who will:
 Lead on the ‘end of contract’ transition for transactional procurement
 Support the Strategic Manager create and embed the to be structure to delivery SCC with
transactional procurement
 Drive and improve compliance throughout policy and processes
 Become an expert in SAP/ERP eProcurement functionality

In addition to the Job Description, outlined below are examples of the roles workload and deliverables:
1. Main interface for the SW1 End of Contract relating to Transactional Procurement which will
involve identifying a Roadmap and delivery plan and working closely with key stakeholders.
2. Identify the training and development needs of the commercial and procurement team to
develop the Training Programme against the skill gaps which will be identified by the Teams
Managers via a Skill Audit
3. Create SAP Spend Summary Reports to capture 3 years spend data for identified key
portfolios of spend and validate the content with the teams service managers. Identify gaps
leading to the creation of an action and mitigation plan to incorporate those gaps and
liaise/communicate to SAP users
4. Identify potential Procurement Savings tool and process – liaise with the Benefits Manager and
Strategic Manager – Finance to agree structure
5. Owner of Pro Contract System (e-procurement) including assignment of roles, functional
development, content, templates and training requirements
6. P Card Strategy – create and interrogate data to produce an outline P Card action plan
7. SAP Contract, Catalogue & Compliance – identify potential supplier contracts from the above
gaps and work through to a SAP catalogue approach where possible. Drive Standing Order
compliance through the SAP provision.
8. Create a document library project to incorporate key procurement templates, issue
communication and own – working with own team and Legal Department

Somerset County Council requires 2 full time Team Managers to manage its countywide Permanence
Service. One post is to include the registered manager requirements and the other post is to include
the Adoption Support Services Advisor requirements.
With a degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent, you will have strong leadership skills,
relevant experience of adoption work and a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for
children and young people.
You will manage a team of Permanence Social Workers and Adoption Support Workers undertaking
assessments of prospective adopters and offering post adoption support services to permanent carers.
You will work closely with child care colleagues to make sure both adopters and children’s experience
of the service is positive and permanency is achieved for children without drift or delay.
You should be a flexible thinker able to contribute to service development and manage change. This is
an exciting time for the service as Somerset together with its AdoptSW partners embraces the

government’s regional adoption agenda. You should be ready to lead and develop innovative ways of
working.
In addition you must be able to lead a team to embed a positive performance culture.

Partnership that looks after this area has a proven track record of integrated delivery of environmental,
community and economic initiatives.
We are looking for a new AONB Manager to lead the staff unit (a team of four, plus project and contract
roles). The team is currently based at Charterhouse Centre near Blagdon, in the heart of the AONB.
You will be a highly motivated, dynamic, entrepreneurial and experienced individual. Your
communication skills will be excellent, and you will be able to demonstrate how your experience means
you are well equipped to work with your funding partners, different stakeholders with an interest in the
AONB and other partnerships in the area. There will be a diverse workload to handle as well as
managing the different relationships involved with this role. You will have proven experience of
managing staff and resources, ideally of accessing new sources of funding. You should have a good

admission appeals and monitoring in year school place applications. You will be providing
administrative support to the Admissions Officers and Appeal Co-ordinator. You will be required to

Therefore excellent communication, IT and organisational skills are essential, along with experience in

This is an exciting position that arises due to the current post holder moving on to undertake teacher
training and the wish of the Maths Team to retain an additional colleague to support the development of
