For this project you will work to create a PowerPoint presentation that outlines various
aspects of jobs in accounting using the website startheregoplaces.com.
Your PPT presentation must be formatted using the 7X7 rule! This means that no slide can
contain more than 7 bullets per slide and no more than 7 words per bullet! Absolutely NO
PARAGRAPHS!
The following information should be included in your presentation:
1. Slide 1: Title slide—“Why Accounting?” Include your names on this slide too.
2. Slide 2: Career Areas in Accounting (list 3 of the following that your PPT will focus on)
a. entertainment
b. technology
c. sports
d. government
e. non-profit and education
f. criminal investigation
g. environment
h. travel
i. food and fashion
3. Slide 3-10: For each career area of accounting (3 total) that you are researching you will need to
include the following information. Each career area should have its own slide.
a. Title for slide: name of area (entertainment, technology, etc.)
b. 2 specific jobs that fall within that career area (1 slide each).
i. Include specific details about what the job entails.
c. What you should know (“know this” section)?
4. Slide 11: CPA Skills—briefly outline the 4 main skills.
5. Slide 12-13: Salary (click on salary and demand—then click on the “Salary Snapshot” link on the
right of the screen).
a. For each area that you researched provide 2 examples of what the salary for that type of
job might be.
