Reasons to attend 2014 Camp Graduates Had This to Say... “Being able to come to Construction Career Camp was a great experience that I loved and enjoyed.” “I enjoyed learning such a variety of things in construction.” “It was a fantastic experience. I can’t wait to come back next year!” The National Association of Women In Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women In Construction of Fort Worth. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women In Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women In Construction. The Greater Orlando Chapter 73 was chartered in 1962 as the Orlando/Winter Park Chapter and is a part of Region 3, the only Region encompassing an entire state. This Chapter has grown to include members from Orange, Seminole, Lake, Osceola and Brevard counties. The name change to Greater Orlando was to encompass our far-reaching members. The Greater Orlando Chapter is one of the largest chapters in the nation. .
