REPORT GUIDELINES AND REMINDERS
Essay
 The title page, written report, and bibliography should be written very neatly.
 Use the information from your “notes packet” to write your essay. DO NOT COPY
WORDS FROM YOUR SOURCES
Flag and Map
 Both the illustration of the flag and route map must be colored using crayons or colored
pencils (no markers).
 On the map, shade in the background –don’t leave any part of the page white (unless
it’s supposed to be white).
 On the route map, the continents and oceans should be labeled
 Use a red marker to draw the path taken by the explorer
Other
 On the title page, make sure the date at the bottom of the page is the date your report
is due, not the date on which you’re writing/typing your title page.
 You must use at least two sources to find information for your report.
 On your bibliography, all of your sources must be listed together in alphabetical order
by the first letter in the source.
 Be sure to skip a line between sources.
 Put your report in a presentation/report folder or neatly stapled (not a binder) with the
pages in the following order:
o Title Page- (hand drawn picture)
o Flag of Country Explorer Represented
o Map of Explorer’s Route(s)
o Final Draft( essay)
o Bibliography
