December: The Glorious Gift of
Jesus” Birth
By The Schroeder Family
FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT: PROPHECIES
The first Sunday
in Advent
focuses on the
prophecies of
the Bible
describing the
coming of
Christ.
Prophecies
prepared,
taught, warned
and encouraged
the people
about God, His
ways, and His
plans.
This week we will look at how over 2,700
years ago, God revealed His plan to His
people. 2,100 years ago, He fulfilled His plan
by sending His Son, Jesus and now in the
21st century we are anticipating the
fulfillment of the final prophecies describing
His return.
Pope Francis December Prayer Intentions
Christmas, hope for humanity: That the birth of the
Redeemer may bring peace and hope to all people of

 Immaculate Conception Holy Day
December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate
Conception, will fall on a Monday this year. In
accord with the USCCB decision and confirmed by
the Holy See, the precept to attend Mass on this
Solemnity is maintained, even when it falls on a
Saturday or Monday. Therefore, Monday, December
8, 2014, will be a Holy Day of obligation for the
faithful in the United States.
 Christmas Giving Tree
To the Parents: It is hard to believe that we have
completed 2 months of Religious Education. Our
children as always remain great as they nurture
their relationship with the Lord. To date they have
experienced the Rosary weekly in the month of
October and believe it or not they really liked it
and experienced the grace of this prayer. We also
had a great speaker on the “Spirit World” which
was given by Fr. Paul Desmaras and the reviews of
his presentation were very favorable. All the young
people who are preparing for a sacrament were
spiritually adopted to be prayed for until May. In
the spring we will have a breakfast to introduce
them to each other. The younger children went on
a church tour with Father Jacek and loved it. They
were quite impressed with how many different
colored “outfits” he owned. Perhaps Father should
do a fashion show for all of us (lol).
As you can see we are busy sharing the tools of our
faith. Your children are a gift to our parish. Please
know that the ultimate grace comes from the
sacraments and we love sharing that grace at Holy
mass with you and your family.
