STUDENT-FRIENDLY TRANSLATION
G-CO.09 (Prove theorems about lines and angles. Theorems include: vertical angles are congruent; when a transversal crosses parallel lines, alternate interior angles are congruent and corresponding
angles are congruent; points on a perpendicular bisector of a line segment are exactly those equidistant from the segment’s endpoints.)
Learning Goals and Objectives: (What will students know & be able
to do as a result of this lesson?)
The student will be able to state the truth values for compound
statements including conjunctions and disjunctions.
I can find the truth of a
compound statement.
Vocabulary Support: (What vocabulary will student need for this
lesson?)
statement, truth value, negation, compound statements, conjunction,
disjunction, and truth table.
I understand what a compound
statement is and what
conjuctions and disjunctions
are.
Formative Assessment Criteria for Success: (What does success on
this lesson’s outcomes look like?)
The student will be able to evaluate the truth value for a given
conjunction and disjunction.
I will find truth values for
logic statements.
Activities/Tasks: (What learning experiences will students engage in?)
Slide show on microchip design and printed logic circuits.
presentation of binary number systems
explanation of digital technology
guided / independent practice with real-time assessment

4. How did this lesson engage students in cooperative learning and cooperative learning skills?
5. How effective was the work in this lesson?
Common Core Aligned Lesson:
Reflection
+ Digital presentation with binary numbers and an explanation of how a CD and DVD player converts sound and images to binary was
very engaging.
- A lot to cram into one lesson, especially with the vocabulary.
∆ Maybe I should do just one vocabulary word?
